Honestly, what is the difference? Or is it the same thing described by 2 different words

Language questions are interesting to me. I personally think many people would have different definitions of these terms, and personally I think snuggles are more "pushed in" or enclosed than snuggles. To explain I would say snuggling would be smooshing into someone's side while also having that someone's arm around you holding you in.
Cuddling would be something like spooning. It's less enclosed. Just having your legs on top of eachother while watching a movie would be cuddling....but not snuggling,

Without consulting a thesaurus or dictionary, when I hear snuggle I envision close, quiet warmth with little movement. Kind of like you arrange yourself under and armpit or situate the broadest part of your body near someone and you stay there motionless. Kind of like when you're rocking a baby and the baby finally falls asleep and you don't want to move in order to not wake them up. Said baby is now snuggling! On the flip side when I hear cuddle, I think we are wrapped in each other loosely, with the element of touch however not to a point of quiet calm without movement. Cuddle seems looser to me than snuggling. 🤗💜
And I don't have a preference. Each has its place!
