WOW!!! I am at the airport, reflecting on this last few days of the East Coast world I was inhabitating....
It was so incredibly lovely. I got to see some friends who I have known for years and also, spend some time cultivating this culture that I am a part of.
There were so many fun discussions, hugs, food options, and the most AMAZING kind of weather we could have hoped for.
This Meet & Greet has been in the works for a long time, its true. And the facilitators did not disappoint.
So many people helped get everyone connected behind the scenes, but I want to give a shout out to @MonkeyNeedsAHug for the last minute hustle to secure a secondary venue. The first had some problems because of destruction by nature and thank goodness for his swift ability to make everything happen. ALL THE GOLD STARS MY MONKEY FRIEND!!!
I also want to express my most sincere gratitude to @cudbud64 , not only for being willing to tirelessly work toward making the site a better place by moderating, but also the specific nature of what it took to coordinate a SAFE SPACE for the attendees.
I know not everyone reads OR REMEMBERS the forums, but there was a member who got completely unhinged when he was banned and started making death threats toward the moderating team.
We don't always get to see the WHY behind the scenes, but @cudbud64 spent a lot of energy getting rid of scammy, shady people who kept trying to get information in order to do shady things. THIS on the heels of the last East Coast Meet & Greet where we were in a public pavilion and wound up in the middle of some horrific events.
I know there are a lot of good people here who want to help coordinate an actual IN REAL LIFE event.... but I take my hat off to you!!! 😊😊😊
I also love that the time AROUND the Meet & Greet creates an opportunity to explore new areas of our world.
This time of year holds a special meaning for me as well, because of how we’re getting ready for a new season.
Thank you @Sideon for giving us this glorious, thought provoking nugget of wisdom.
