I've run (and sold) several businesses, and I currently have one that I'm involved with, and am thinking of starting up another.
In the past it is mostly the case where I start out as a one-woman operation, but my pattern, when I'm successful, is later on I end up primarily controlling operations and hire others to do the hands-on work.

I would prefer not to own one, but if I had to I would like a mix of both the brains and brawn. Physical activity is beneficial and the brain work might offer some interest. Doing both is better than doing just one either way.
I know who Dilbert and Dogbert are, but I never heard of Wally.

Also, I was looking at your profile, and I love your idea of mentioning that you are willing to go to hospice and hospitals. I have never done that with cuddling, but many years ago I used to volunteer to go and read books and such at a hospice, which I found very rewarding.
Good for you in being so compassionate. Cuddling, like in many areas of life, the people who most need help are the ones least likely to get it. I was particularly struck by this when I ran a massage practice and spa.
Thanks, Kate. You're sweet. My community service club in Jr High used to go to the convalescent homes once a month and I remember how happy the residents were to see us. There will be sad times, of course, because I tend to get attached to people, but so worth it.
I was a driver for Pizza Hut for 3 years. My favorite customer was Roger, the resident at the local old folks home. 4 Large Pep Pizzas & a 2 Ltr of Pepsi. Fed his fellow residents. Every Monday 6pm without fail for about a year and a half. Til that one Monday when we didn't get the order....man, I was sad for months. I still think of him, and I left PH in 2008.

I bet. Those interactions we have in service jobs can easily end up being for customers, especially older people who can't get out much, a major source of human contact.
I hear you about Roger and have similar memories from some of past jobs, and I agree--it is totally worth it. 🤍
