When a cuddler calls me hun, babe or sweetie right off the bat that’s a red flag for me.
To many that would be a green light, rather than a red flag.
I don’t mind pet names, even when the pro was calling me daddy I was like ok red flag but I can deal with it but then when she said I love you I was like ok BRAKES!!!!!!
@Sooson Seemingly so, but again operative phrase “just not right off the bat”. Usually it’s nice to build up to a pet name through some shared experience, rapport or chemistry first. Not a deal breaker mind you, but to me it just comes off a little shallow and insincere. And with cuddling we’re all looking for pathways to connectivity, not red flags of distance.
And @Morpheus — Actually I just got a message from a pro that called me “my love”. Sorta dilutes the meaning of it IMO.——
(But I’d much rather see that than the countless profiles of women sticking out their tongues - that one is a big turn off to me. I even wrote a post on it called “why the tongue”? But I don’t wanna hijack this thread so let’s not go there, here).

That's exactly why they do it.
As I mentioned earlier, those types of Pro's are likely using these tactics to establish a sense of closeness when it isn't there, to stroke the ego, and to flirt just enough, but not too much. They know what they're doing. They're not all southern waitresses. 😉

Sitting here thinking of all the little old ladies that called everybody "baby" and "sweetheart" in church back when I was a child. They would for sure find themselves in trouble based on what I'm reading here today. They would atleast follow it up with a "bless your heart".
@Scorpian There are absolutely areas and cultures where that is the norm, and it's 100% platonic. 20-year-old models from Vegas are not that demographic. 😆 Context makes the difference, here.
I definitely DO have names for my pets!! 😜 (Edited to add that this is only funny if you look at who my pets are in my profile) 😅
In this instance tho.... @SunsetSnuggles and @Hoodiesnuggles are on the nose 🎯💯 Pet names used by complete strangers are an attempt to create intimacy and familiarity where there is none 🤷♀️ Also, the sexy names are just plain creepy like @Sheena123 said....ICK 😣

While I use pet names very rarely, and only with people I know well, I don't mind others using them with me.
I've lost count of the number of 20- or 30-something year old waitresses who call me "hun", or "sweetheart". I think it's endearing; sweet; friendly...
I've even had two or three cuddlers from this site say that to me during our initial session.
I'm not threatened by it, nor do I think there is necessarily some dark, ulterior motive in using pet names.
But I also don't come from a bubblewrap-centric world.
I don't care for pet names from people I don't know or barely know.
I don't get uncomfortable, i figure it is one of two things when I get it here
1) that's just how they write 2) a pro uses it to establish a sense of closeness or connection.
My response tone to everyone is the same so it makes no difference to me.
I used to call the women I know babe, if we were close. It became so ingrained that when one of my friends/co-workers introduced me to a friend of hers, I called her babe at one point. We were having great conversation and I at least though we clicked, but she left before I could get her number .
I asked my friend what happened, and she said calling her babe was too much. To this day I don't remember saying that, but again, it was 'normal' for me to do it. I am more conscientious now days, but I wonder if I still call some of my friends babe without even noticing it.
I came to this thread literally thinking people were talking about the names of their animals pets. 🤦🏼♂️Lol
