@btc13 No, I doubt very much their preferences would change, nor is there any reason they should. They might, though, be more aware of and accepting of the preferences of others, if they are not already.

Nobody is saying that anybody has to do anything. A willingness and aptitude to be open to exploring the whys and what nots are suggested but nobody has to do anything and all. It's a suggestion, not s debate. I don't feel a need to change anything about myself in regards to this subject, but I am open to hearing others out. Even if I don't necessarily agree, so long as it's not disrespectful. Defensiveness makes us perceive hypotheticals as generalizations and absolutes sometimes and I don't really see any of that being done here.

@pmvines I would respectfully disagree with your statements that none of what you described has occurred here. There have been numerous instances when it was posted that one view/preference NEEDS to change. I don't post much refuting these kinds of things simply because I'm not threatened by them, and I don't believe my comments will assuage anyone's thoughts on the matter (the matter being that only one view is the right view, and must be embraced by all). Besides, the minority of voices that have taken this position also tend to be erroneous in their logic and it would take up too much time and forum space to shed the light on it.

I do respect your thoughts here. It is unfortunate that a small number have detracted from the original post.

Perhaps I am only reading things from my perspective and my interpretation then

I'll cuddle whoever as long as they are respectful. I don't really care if they are he she they them.

  • It looks like some people are still interpreting "be tolerant of other people's preferences" as "you must adopt those preferences yourself."

Some men would cuddle other men but don't because they would get shamed or attacked for it. (If this isn't you, then I'm not referring to you here.) That is the tolerance that the younger generation is better at, which a larger portion of the older generation could do well to learn.

I would never advocate for anyone to cuddle or do anything with someone they're not comfortable with. I will always advocate to do what makes you happy as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.
