You can pull up Live Cams right now in Asian Countries and see the cleanliness of the streets and the ease with which people move around with no concern for crime or being accosted by Violent people with Mental Problems like most American Cities. Particularly important for women to able to walk at night with no safety concerns.
There are still a few places in the US where that is possible -but they are dwindling.
@BrianOcean My son works in Seoul, and has since 2013. I don’t think he wants to ever live in the US again. And for some of the reasons you’ve stated. It makes me sad, but when I’m here I get it.

We own a farm/ future retirement home in SEA. I am there quite often and transit through both Singapore and HK. Couldn't agree with you more.

@g_w_t_w I spent almost two years in South Korea (One year in Suncheon, the other year in Busan). I wouldn't have traded that time for anything.
@GuyverGordon So glad you had that opportunity! This is my 3rd long visit to Seoul. More than 3 months this time. It’s difficult for people to understand this culture if they haven’t experienced it, I didn’t until I came here. I’ve also gone to Jeju Island and Tokyo last week. The food, shopping, and Korean skincare!!!
@g_w_t_w I never had the pleasure of going to Jeju Island, though I've heard many stories about. I wish I had. It was a truly a wonderful experience being there though.
I had visited Seoul a few times while I was there. And I was able to visit several of the relatively close by countries as well (Japan, Westside -- mostly around Kyoto and Nara, China, Thailand to name a few).
My kid's dojang does a trip to Korea every summer for the black belts. It will be a few more years before he qualifies to go, but we're looking forward to the experience.
