Wisdom from Mother Goose (1827)

I wanted to post the “serenity prayer” but didn’t want to risk violating forum rules on religious expression. So instead I am posting a similar sentiment expressed in rhyme by Mother Goose.

“For every ailment under the sun
There is a remedy, or there is none;
If there be one, try to find it;
If there be none, never mind it.”

I wish EVERYONE peace, serenity, and safety today. Rest assured, no matter what today, or any day, may bring, the Sun will rise again tomorrow morning just as it has every morning since before mankind even roamed the planet.

    I wanted to get that posted early this morning before any news about turnout at different locations started giving clues about how things might turn out tonight (hopefully tonight and not over the next several days or weeks).

    Regardless of which side wins, I know roughly half the country will be happy and roughly half will be incredibly disappointed and worried. That is why I am focusing on peace, serenity and safety for all.

    Remove the first word, and it is in no way religious. It's a good bit of wisdom and philosophy like that.

    Posting a brief, practical, spiritual text is not an imposition on anyone's free will--no more than a User posting any other thought or opinion on the forum.

    Definitely nothing new under the sun... But some things in life dont need to be repeated. We as people, especially the people that may have more then most are detrimental to each other when the choice becomes:
    1. Overlook the obvious to maintain what we have, regardless of the harm.
    2. Choose the status quo of historical negligence, because change is unknown.

    Peace and serenity to everyone for sure, but of actions dont make the words real, be good with the reality that has transpired.

    This thread was started yesterday morning, about 20 hours before the outcome was known. It could have gone either way and that is why my sentiment of peace, serenity and safety was for EVERYONE.

    As I said above, the only thing that was certain at the time this thread was started was about half of the country was going to be happy and about half the country was going to be upset and afraid but nobody knew which side was which.

    @CharlieBear @JoyfulHeart would one of you please lock this thread before it turns toxic. Thank you.
