I had to laugh

I made a general "hello" to an enthusiast who said she welcomed/enjoyed conversations. She replied to my introduction with a similar general greeting, and asked for a photo. I obliged without comment. She responded by blocking me. Now THAT'S funny.

(Note: while I did not post this thread looking for an explanation as to why someone might do this, you are free to share your thoughts. I posted this because I actually laughed at being blocked following a submission of my picture, and felt others might have had a similar experience here where you scratch your head and think, "Huh?") 😁

I'm glad you have the internal fortitude required to giggle about something like this. As much as the CONCEPT of platonic cuddling doesn't seem to be based on physical/temporal/racial/moral/geographical attraction, the reality of our being human DOES call allll of those things into play..

Here, people block for many different reasons. I've read that one poster blocked people who were on her dashboard so that those profiles would no longer show up on her search. While this doesn't sound like that---and I'm glad you had the self-possession to simply laugh off what appears to be rather rude behavior--- I just wanted to add the idea that getting blocked here happens for a lot of different reasons. But then, you find the cuddler that DOES say "Yes," and the world gets right again!

Could be something else. Like for example, if I recognize someone whose attitude isn't nicely represented on the forums, I won't wish to chat or cuddle them.

@Auroradream that could be the case here, but she is brand new to the CC community. I'm guessing she hasn't been in the forums that much, and even less so read many of my scant forum comments. I have my guess as to why I was blocked, but it would be mere speculation.

@friendlyj311 Thanks, but no harm, no foul. The timing of the block (immediately after the picture was given) made it funny to me. I'm no prince charming (though I was a model about 30 years ago ... no joke), but little children don't run from me in tears either. 🤣

It's also okay for us to admit that we're not going to be a "good fit" with everyone--- you have your own preferences; I have mine. We allll do. But you showed maturity in being able to let this sort of weird interaction roll off your feathers!!! Those are some nice, oily feathers you got there!! Good thing, because dealing with us fallible human beings, those are definitely needed!! lol

Looks are not important to me when it comes to cuddling . I’ve had the pleasure of cuddling someone in a wheelchair and it was probably the BEST session I have ever had and it made me realize what cuddling is all about. So don’t worry about the small stuff, she wasn’t for you.

In all seriousness it can sting when we have interactions like this. But she did you a favor not matter the reason. Were you wearing a cowboys jersey? Holding a wide mouth bass? Maybe your hair was too luxurious. My guess would be to talk dark and handsome that her mind just couldn't handle. Who knows, who cares, saved you time. I like to think when it happens to me the lady is just ugly on the inside. But you know people have "preferences" i guess.

@Skittlebaggz i prefer tequila and bourbon over scotch but refined taste is a virtue and i appreciate it whether it's my taste or not. I also enjoy my tea in a glass with ice most times sweet.

@ReltvlyCanshes You are right. For some it could be a hurtful, stinging thing. I don't want to minimize any hurt others might feel in similar situations.
