Neurologist breaks down “The Sound of Silence”

Simon and Garfunkel recorded “The Sound of Silence” 60 years ago and I have loved that song since I first heard it in the 1970s. In 2015, Disturbed recorded a much more emotionally haunting version of the song and a music video full of powerful imagery.

The link below is to a video of a neurologist breaking down and giving her commentary on the message within and the powerful performance of the song.

Her emphasis on the theme of connection vs “people talking without speaking, people hearing without listening…” made me think of this community and the shared desire for authentic connection and the common communication difficulties that get in the way of that connection.
