I was in Pasadena and Hollywood today and everything looked fine. No smoke, no visible fire, no ash, no burnt smell in the air. I was shocked.
PLEASE BE ADVISED
An inaccurate social media post is currently circulating on Facebook. The post claims that individuals can come to California to join a clean-up crew in areas affected by recent LA wildfires. This information is false, and we would like to clarify that there is no such opportunity available. We kindly ask that you refrain from calling to inquire about this.

I watched a news story yesterday featuring a couple whose house burned down in one of the LA fires.
There daughter had died just a couple of years ago and they had kept her ashes--which have been lost in the carnage.
That was hard to watch.
My place is safe, thank goodness. Just north of the Hurst fire which doesn’t seem to be spreading much.
My view from work today. I saw no evidence of fires.
I have had little help from FEMA or anyone (Airbnb, 211LA.org, etc) for temporary housing. I was able to get a hotel until Friday in Palm Springs but as of Friday I’m on the street. I appreciate all the ongoing support and donations. All the bottled water I could ever ask for.
I wonder if this is something the LA Homeless Service Authority or the Los Angeles’ rehousing system is helping with? They were finding housing for hundreds of people last year.

I am seeing all the photos from friends and neighbors and I'm so heartbroken, especially for the animals. The ones found are singed and scared, the ones gone or yet to be found have frantic owners feeling worried and guilty. I've been mostly safe and fine since I returned, but can't concentrate since I came back to LA. I'm signed up to join a team for pet recovery and foster and waiting for my call. I know that losing my spirit animal is what would hurt me most if I had been in the path. The teams up there now need traps and crates. If anyone wants to help from a distance please donate to the animal shelters or recovery teams.
FEMA came through. Communication was poor at the start but things are starting to move.
So far 56 families that are either a friend or acquaintance of me have lost their home in the Palisades fire. Add on that my daughter and her husband’s custom built home that they built in PP 2 years ago was reduced to rubble by the fire. Once again my house in Malibu escaped being torched so this one was not MY time! It would not be reasonably sane to complain of closed roads , destroyed service facilities or police Presence at this time. Most likely in terms of $$$ this will end up being the 2nd most costly natural disaster in U.S. history
This is what things look like as of right now.
It's tragic, devastating, and heartbreaking. I immediately texted one of my good friends in LA to see if she was alright. Thankfully her location in K-Town is safe. I can't stand all the people who have mocked the victims, especially celebrities. They can afford it better than others, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve our sympathy. Losing your home, especially your memories, is devastating no matter who you are. Love, prayers, and support to all in LA. I wish I could donate right now.
How are those who were affected doing now? My thoughts are with you.
And it’s never too late to donate to help. I gave, and if you can’t give money give canned food or even pet food.
Thanks for checking in.
The fires are now 100% contained.
Some People are starting to be let back on to their Property to start cleaning up and demolition.
Scientists and pulmonary experts say the Air quality is not good and won’t be for a couple Months at least.
But it seems everyone is out of danger now. It rained a little last weekend and it’s supposed to rain one day next week.
Hwy 1 the pacific coast hwy is still closed from Santa Monica pier north to Malibu. As is hwy 27 and parts of sunset Blvd area still closed in the the palisades.
PCH is going to re-open TODAY at 8am........well partially anyway as there will be one lane open in both directions at reduced speed. Since we always have traffic reduced speed should be normal! PCH is my main road/street/highway in Malibu so a bit of normalcy will be welcome.
I’m extremely happy to hear that most people are safe and rain will dampen the small fires still going. The air and ground contamination is still ongoing to study and capture accurate data.
Paradise is still contaminated and will continue to be so.Yet many still live there and have rebuilt or choose to stay. But many insurance would not allow a rebuild there due to the contaminations. Most will allow a rebuild/purchase elsewhere.
Sharing a YouTube video will give you a unique vantage point into how CA handles a massive crisis. Not sure 🤔 why the land was such a focal point of joy. 🤩 LA2028? Dude 😒 look around you.
Mostly just the citizens of LA are bringing comfort and assistance, LA Strong♥️🫶.
I am also a Certified Massage Therapist. Immediately following the fires my business quadrupled. Clearly people are over stressed and need both physical connection as well as stress relief. I think many people would benefit from a cuddle just as much. Unfortunate most people aren’t even aware such a thing exists in both the professional and enthusiast level. I have no doubt my cuddle card would be full. I cuddle at the enthusiast level.
