@SquishyJackie thank you. What you’re describing sounds great. Though I did shudder when you said day old office coffee; even if you’re lucky enough to have decent office coffee, there’s something about the feshly brewed aromas that enhance the overall flavor. 😀
@ReltvlyCanshes I’ll agree for many chains. There’s a few I’ll visit but most are production lines. And maybe this is heresy so I hope I don’t offend any of you but the one chain I absolutely dislike everything I’ve tried is Dutch Brothers. The employees (bro-istas, really look it up) are fine, seem to like their jobs, the coffee might as well have come from a gas station. And it’s just a drive through. I prefer the cafe to enjoy. Not my vehicle.

I’ve actually eaten at the main restaurant before but never knew it had a bakery and coffee shop attached. Decided to try it out. I went to the Chandler location.
It says it’s a family-owned restaurant, and I’d say the coffee is good, and the pastries are fantastic. The ambiance is a little sterile and boring unless you like tiny tables and chairs. 😇

This is one of my local favorites … their dark chocolate mochas are delicious as well as their food. Now I don’t partake in hooka but they have a fantastic lil area in the back that’s fairly private and a great spot for public cuddles. There is a minimum you have to spend to use the back area.

And I know you said coffee but this is a late night tea house in Los Angeles that I have yet to try yet. It looks amazing. It’s unlimited teas you pay an admissionZ. They have jazz and other live performances. Would be a great cuddle spot. I think you have to make reservations

The dark chocolate mocha sounds particularly good right now.
And I like tea too, sometimes it fits the mood better than coffee.
While I am a coffee addict, I'm not a connoisseur. In a blind taste test, I probably couldn't tell the difference between 7-Eleven and Black Ivory coffee.
I love the aroma, but it all tastes like cigarettes to me.

@TxTom sorry to hear that - there is actually quite a large range of flavor profiles depending on where and how it’s grown, roasted, and brewed.
I used to have the same opinion about red wines. But my palate can discerns differences there now too.

I actually ran a coffee house in suburbs of Detroit when I was 21. It was a chain however, in a malls. This was before there were coffee shops on every corner. I learned a lot about coffee and have over a dozen recipes stored away in my brain. I can be picky when I get a coffee.
I've never been able to do coffee. I've tried all sorts and jsut haven't been able to get into it. The closest thing to coffee I have been able to tolerate was a blueberry nitro something-or-other.

I may as well share a Pittsburgh area gem. My favorite local coffee shop was originally a large old post office. Some of the original fixtures are still there. It spans two floors, has several rooms and lots of eclectic things to look at and cozy places to sit. Not only are there great coffee and snacks but you can buy things made by local artists that are on display. It's called the Carnegie Coffee Company.

Lately I’ve been going to a coffee place in N Dallas named Native. Very nice people who work there and coffee has been excellent. On Alpha Rd just east of Midway. It’s pretty popular. It’s in an unexpected location.
