I clicked on a profile today. I had never visited or had interactions with this person before and as far as I am aware this person hadn't visited my profile but it turns out they have blocked me. How is this possible?
I've blocked one person that was very rude to me in the forum, though I do think you have to go to their profile to block them, you may have said something they didn't like, don't worry about it.
@jmdank that's the weird thing. They have never visited my profile. I am not worried about it, just wondering how they managed to block me. I don't care why I am more interested in the technical aspect
A Block removes them from your Visitor's list.
@TxTom - thanks mate, that explains it!
Hey I'm blocked both by people I've never interacted with as well as a few people who I have been friends with. Not always makes sense but nobody owes you an explanation, even when if it stings a little.
This kind of thing is surprisingly common. Don't worry about it.
What I always find kind of amusing about blocking is, what are the odds that person was ever going to message you, or you them? That's why I prefer the LinkedIn approach - not only can they not message you, you don't have to see their posts either. They are well and truly out of your online life.
Thanks guys. I have a feeling I know why but it really doesn't bother me. I was more interested in the logistics behind it but txtom enlightened me.

@cuddlyDavid Ohh, stealth mode blocking happens a lot to ME. Lol! ππ
It's cool, one dude that I sorta chatted with blocked me, I guess it was today?π€π....Lol!
I don't know, blocking happens (to Me) for any and all reasons no matter how mundane (or not mundane ) the reasons are. ππ€·
I just accept ALL BLOCKINGS and move on with the rest of my life. ππ

@WriterGF ππππ I know right?! What indeed are the odds? ππ I appreciate your comment, thank you! π
πππ
@TxTom That's true too. I guess I wore out my welcome with "visiting profiles" too much. ππ
Lol! Have I been "visiting your profile" too much, Tom?π
@Katota Not at all! I don't Block.
@cuddlyDavid Perhaps the person was afraid they would fall in love with you.
@gem7 Oh yes my dashing good youthful looks knock them over every time Someone recently asked me if I was the singer from the Subhumans!
Blocking is for throwing detectives off the scent.
@TheFunCartel Detectives or just curious cats?
@Katota
I think that's 100% the best way to handle it
When I get blocked I usually just throw a tantrum, yell, scream, stomp my feet up and down and roll around on the floor.
I usually don't notice.
πππ
@amcuddles608 It's the only way that I handle it. ππ
@TxTom
@gem7 Like this...??? π
@Katota Thats me...
@gem7 π
Love your leggings @gem7
I've lost track of how many times I've been blocked and have zero f--ks to give. I actually chuckle everytime I see that I've been blocked by someone. I view tons of profiles regardless of gender. It's a website where people have profiles. People are going to look at each other. If the person doesn't like me looking at them get the f--k over it. Just my two cents.
I never knew because I donβt search anyone.
I've never blocked someone to keep them from looking at my profile (because who cares?) I block them because banishing them at the round table isn't an option.
OP asked a technical question, folks. This is not another "boo hoo I've been blocked" thread. π§
