Am I really the only strictly platonic cuddler left?

I don't know Kent, but it sounded like the classic "got sucked in by the marketing and then embittered that he couldn't find an enthusiast, so he takes it out on pros" bit.

  • Interesting thread lol wish everyone the best for all their different view points.

  • @theCuddleDrgn Not sure where you're going with that - sex workers shouldn't use this site because it's a platonic site and sex work is not welcome. I know it can be hard for some providers to accept they don't have the right to sell whatever they want to anyone they want, but this place is a haven from that kind of attitude for good reason. Cuddling is supposed to be nurturing, not a bidding war.

  • @jps76 yeah idk why someone would waste their time to make a profile only to give out negative vibes…..too much time on their hands, they need a hobby.

  • @Sheena123,
I totally get that the title might’ve come across a bit... intense. When I wrote it, I thought my sarcasm and sense of humor would shine through a little more clearly…I clearly miscalculated. HaHa. The title was a tongue-in-cheek reaction to a comment from a client who suggested that most women on the site “offer more” than I do. So, the “I’m the only strictly platonic cuddler left!!” part was meant to be sarcastic, not a genuine declaration.

For the record, I talk to plenty of women on here who are also strictly platonic, and I have friends in real life who cuddle platonically too. But honestly, I’ve had to defend what I do to nearly everyone I’ve told that I get paid to cuddle. The moment you say “professional cuddler,” people jump to conclusions. I’m at a point now where I don’t even bring it up anymore, not because I’m ashamed, but because I’m tired of constantly having to justify my integrity. And that, frankly, is sad.

Now, about the massage thing, just to be super clear: NO ONE IS GETTING NAKED!! Ever. I don’t know why that would even be suggested after reading my post. The kinds of touch I occasionally offer, like scalp, hand, or light arm massages are clothed, always respectful, and only happen if I feel totally comfortable with the person and trust that they understand and respect my boundaries. Sometimes I might offer light touch to the legs or back, again only in specific cases where mutual trust is established.

Also important: I don’t upcharge for massage. It’s not something I include in most sessions. It’s just a small, optional part of physical comfort that some clients ask for and enjoy, and I only agree to it if I feel it fits within the safe, platonic nature of the session.

I’m a licensed hairdresser, so I understand the importance of professional boundaries and the regulations that come with touch-based services. In California, you don’t need to be licensed by the state to give massage, unless you’re advertising or charging for it as a STANDALONE service. If you really want to be careful, the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) offers voluntary certification that allows massage therapists to work legally in most cities and counties without needing local permits. But since I’m not offering massage as a business or charging specifically for it, that doesn’t apply to me. And because I am not a licensed massage therapist there aren’t any restrictions on me giving a free massage. If there were, you could be fined or jailed for giving a friend or partner a foot massage!!

Of course, each city or county might have its own rules, especially when it comes to running a massage business, but again, what I do falls outside of that scope.

If you’re wondering about your own state’s laws, a quick Google search will usually point you to your local regulations.

In closing, all in all this was a successful post. It has more responses than most forum posts that have been posted for the same amount of time so it must be an hot topic!! Also, even though this response is directed towards sheena123, it’s meant as a response to many other users posts as well. And it’s in no way meant as an attack against sheena123. I only mean to clarify and educate. I just want to say that because I seem to be wildly misunderstood. This has been fun and I hope it continues!

    Happy Cuddling!!

  • Also if you want to be a part of the conversation…READ THE CONVERSATION!! Hahaha. You can’t just read the initial post, fly off the handle and ignore everything that’s been said since. To those responses I don’t think they are worthy of a response outside of this blanket statement to all of you.

Side note that’s in no way important or needs further clarification, lilhugdealer is clever af and I get compliments on it all the time. And it in no way suggests I offer extra services. Hahahaha!!! That’s just ridiculous!!!

But this post was not supposed to be about me defending myself. I already do that whenever I tell people what I do. Again, let’s be supportive and offer constructive feedback and not be rude or accusatory! I should never have to defend myself like this as a strictly platonic professional. There’s enough hate in the world. Try being nice and loving even behind your screens.

  • @lilhugdealer thanks for the clarification! 😄😄 that’s awesome. That’s what I do too. Usually through snuggles, I’m caressing and lightly massaging as we go!
I know the site perks its ears up when it hears the word massage so it’s always good to clarify!!

And yea, with cuddling still being so niche, people are always going to cock an eyebrow to the name 😑 my mom just tells people I’m an emotional therapist (for the record, I don’t like to call this therapy). Unfortunately there’s always going to be people thinking naughty when they hear cuddling…. All we can do is be strong and be patient 🥲
