I'm designing a small network secure computer for myself, with a linux firewall, two switches, a wireless AP, a webserver to test out code, a plex server for media, and 3 desktop computers on a kvm, I might add security cameras later.
@jmdank Pretty hardcore to vlan your own network. Just for fun or for actual reasons?
On that note I tried to set up a printer for someone and the router from the ISP couldn't even do static IPs. Awful.

My hobby is trying to complete an art project, any art project, there are many. Primarily I do textiles, custom ropes, custom free-hand crotchet, and multi-media, but I also draw figures, do comics, and write. I'm doing NaRyMo for my birthday this month!
Not today, but I started painting miniatures from Warhammer 40K
Does working out or doing sports recreationally count as a hobby? If so, I've been spending this week mostly getting ready to run a 15K tomorrow. I'm very much looking forward.
@Gamer1992: Nice space marine. Black Templar or some other chapter? Is that one of the newer Primaris figures? I haven't played 40K in many years but I used to paint Orks and Daemons, especially Nurgle ones.

My son recebtly developed an interest in pocket watches so i made him this for christmas. He also loves owls so i spent some time finding the owl token for the back of it

My hobby time today is going to be spent at the boxing gym, which is a hobby I took up about a year ago, and a 4 mile run. I took running up as a hobby a few months ago. My goal is to eventually run in a marathon. My stretch goal is to qualify for and run in the Boston Marathon someday. Seems a good ambition for my 60s. Meanwhile, I am training to run in 5K races.

Love seeing how many creative and hands-on hobbies are represented here — from art and music to building, studying, and even organizing. It’s cool how a hobby can be anything that brings focus, calm, or joy, whether it stays a passion project or grows into something bigger. This thread is honestly motivating me to carve out more intentional time for mine.
