I'm helping organize the Santa Clara (in northern California) cuddle party for October, and as a long-time user of this site I thought of posting here to spread the word, but it felt too spammy. If every party going on around the world got a discussion thread, it would fill up the forum. What if we had a top-level forum category, alongside Cuddle Requests, for Cuddle Parties?
My impression (as I mentioned once before on here) is that cuddlers on this site don't necessarily know about their local parties (or that cuddle parties are even a thing), and people at the parties don't necessarily know about this site. In theory, anyone can go on cuddleparty.com or meetup and browse around, but... maybe you don't know if they are good parties... and in practice it seems there are a lot of cuddle enthusiasts who spend time on this site but don't know about the parties in their area. Which is shame because (and I don't know all the history but) my impression is that "cuddle culture" (or what I think of as cuddle culture) originated and spread via cuddle parties.
Yvonne's cuddle party in Santa Clara is one of the very oldest, going back at least a decade (and still one of the very best, I'd speculate). It has a community around it and is generally well-attended (20-30 attendees with gender balancing). Yet, it would great to pull in cuddly people from this site. I don't think Yvonne even knew about this site until I mentioned it. If you live in the vicinity of Silicon Valley, know that you are blessed with cuddle parties. Coming up there is Yvonne's party in Santa Clara (Oct 7), and Tree's (Theresa) party about 10 miles away from that the next day in Sunnyvale (Oct 8), which I've never been to but I've heard is also a long-running "one of the good ones." Both of these parties can be found on cuddleparty and meetup.
Maybe we can link up these communities more. It could also bring more users to the site, when people go to parties and mention that they found out about the party via cuddlecomfort. Cuddlers, unite!
