When do you make the payment?

edited October 2025 in Cuddle Requests

I made appointment with a pro cuddler, got confirmation. Then the cuddler wanted payment to be made before the session, to give me location details. And will only take PayPal, cash app, or gift card. Will not take cash, will not accept my proposal - meet face to face, I make electronic payment, we start session.

Scammer? Or genuine cuddler?

Possibly a genuine cuddler that isn’t a good match with you due to heightened sensitivity about logistics. Possibly a scammer.
If you don’t feel comfortable about it, don’t continue forward. For me, I would probably say Actually No Thanks unless we’d had enough conversation that I felt confident they are who they say they are.

  • If she’s baby brand new and has no karma, I definitely wouldn’t send a payment. I’ve been here for 6 and a half years and I’ll only require money be sent ahead of time if I’ve never met you and you want me to drive 2+ hours to you.

Trust your instincts and find someone else to cuddle.

  • Just a clarification this is for full payment not just a deposit? If the latter there many threads debating deposits.

If the former, you’ve got good advice here already.

I truly don’t know, but I like your proposal. The hesitation could be either 1. You not showing up to the session and now they have blocked that time on their calendar, or 2. Now you know their address and don’t have skin in the game so you could turn up, change your mind, and not pay.
When both parties are taking a risk, I can see two options -
    1. Meet face to face first at a public location near the cuddle space. If vibe check is passed and both still agree and payment is made, you can both head on over to the actual cuddle.
    2. Find a deposit amount that works, 10-50% to protect their calendar. I do this all the time for my work as a coach and public speaker. That way I still make something even if a cancel or reschedule happens.

Surely offering these options would help you determine their true motives - I hope -?

  • Up front. She’s not necessarily a scammer, but I don’t do prepayment sight unseen on principle. I say this on my profile to avoid wasting my and their time.

CC doesn’t have control over payments and you have no recourse if someone scams you. As long as that’s the case, I’d advise against prepaying.

  • Could be a scammer. Could be genuine. Who knows? I do have hosting fees and travel fees that should be paid in advance and it is clearly outlined on my profile. So every pro that requires some type of prepayment isn't out to scam cuddlers. I would be wary of paying the entire cuddle fee before meeting. For me, that is never prepaid, but cash upon arrival. Also, I don't charge deposits, but definitely understand why some pros do it. Just find a pro that is more in line with your level of comfort and risk tolerance.

  • Thank you all, updated the post with screenshot

  • @drgn508 The way I handle such situations : Next in line please

  • @drgn508 Just read the screenshot. Doesn't sound like English is their first language so it is probably indeed a scam. Do they have any karma? I'd report to mods and let them figure it out.

  • No karma, new cuddler

  • Report them. They aren’t clearly explaining and they seem fixated on prepayment. Would you really want to cuddle someone that seems kinda rude like that anyways? If something feels off, most likely something is off. Report them, block and move on. Let the mods decide if they’re fishy or not

  • @drgn508
I read the screenshot texts and I absolutely wouldn’t pay. I would choose someone with some reviews. I might pay an advance deposit possibly but not the whole amount before the session. Meet in person and pay cash at the beginning. something feels off about this one.

So did you pay? Please clarify. There have been a lot more scammers here lately. I’ve been contacted by a few that eventually were banned.

  • No payments were made. @g_w_t_w why would scammers pay to cc to be a pro cuddler?

  • edited October 2025

@drgn508 Pros do not pay anything to CC to become a pro. The only time we pay anything is after a session has taken place. About 3 days after the booked session, our card on file is automatically charged 15% of the cuddle session fee. I believe male pro cuddlers do pay a monthly fee.

  • Interesting, now the cuddler’s profile is paused

  • @drgn508 “ Paused” just means there was an issue with CC receiving their fee from the Pro’s credit card on file. It happens ( in my case) when my credit card company declines the transaction. I have to call my bank/credit card issuer each time to tell them to authorize it.. It comes up as cuddle comfort “service fee “ on my statements .. It looks suspicious to banks…

  • Prepaying a modest deposit is one thing. But paying the session in full before meeting? No, not unless there's something unusual, such as @Sheena123 mentioned having to drive a long way to come to you.

  • It’s the other way around, I have to drive a long way to meet the cuddler
