In this day and age, you just never know what will offend someone. Something so innocent to you, may be very offensive to others. I have found( and I do sometimes forget) it does not matter how you meant it, but what does matter is how someone "took" it. To give an example,,,,,, many years ago, I was working at an international company that did business all over the world. This was in the early 80s. There was a couple of CEO's from Europe in town (Fenton Mo.) And one gentleman stepped up to me and stated that he was going to step outside to "smoke a fag" . He truely meant nothing by it. But because I was so young, I took it wrong. I LOST it and was laughing so hard I had tears running down my face. Well at the same time, the local CEO, came down, saw me laughing at the other and blew his top. Luckily, the man from Europe explained to my CEO, how he had mis spoke and it was simply a mistake. In Europe at the time (maybe still do ??) they called cigarettes "fags". This being said, I am truely sorry if I have offended anyone here. There is a learning curve, and I am just getting started. But like I was originally stating here. I do not / did not mean to offend anyone. The way I look at it is this. If I do not ask, then I will offend without knowing I did so. It was not a "fishing" trip to see what I could get away with.
