Platonic?

Why is it that in so many cuddler's ads state platonic relationships only, and in the same ads they show so much skin in their photos? That is definitely a mixed message to men.

I flippin agree!!!!! Whole heartedly. I've had conversation about this in the forums, with personal friends, and even a random woman at the Dr's office and most of them played silly like they had no idea why I'd wonder about that since I'm a woman. But no, seriously. πŸ™ƒ
I couldn't tell you why my friend. Personally I think if you present yourself or even advertise yourself like you're big chested, you're telling someone how soft your pillows are and welcome attention to that area. It's not hard to wear a crew neck shirt. Smh
Then poses showing butt first by pros. Yuck.
    Don't get me started.

It is not a mixed message because having skin does not convey non-platonic intent.

The actual sex workers who appear briefly on the site before being banned normally hide most of their skin.

In the modern Western world absolutely nobody uses women's skin per se to convey a non-platonic message. If that was ever the case, it ceased to be at least twenty years ago. To convey such a message, more subtle and sophisticated techniques are used.

The site's rules on what and what is not acceptable in photographs are rigourously enforced by the Mods. Their key guideline is context. For example, a bikini is acceptable in a family beach photo, but not in a photo of a professional cuddling a client.

I think it’s because for pros it is a business and they know people are going to reach out based on appearance, no matter what the clients intentions are. Some pros will really try to get as close to the line as possible without getting photos removed. It makes it more difficult for other pros that want to only show their cuddly side and cuddle attire when they are competing for business, so I think most photo reports we see are from other pros trying to level the playing field. Us mods are not actively policing the site so we rely on reports to see inappropriate photos.

  • I appreciate your opinion Duncan, but I'd have to defer to a woman who would know how her friends use what they have to attract men. What sex workers do have very little to do with my question.

@Mack51 I don't think it's a mixed message unless you interpret it as such. Plenty of males on here have shirtless photos of themselves as their profile photo (especially from CA). I saw one a week or two ago and said something to the guy about it and he said this site's used for hook ups a lot in that area so it's not surprising. I told him if I were ever in his area, my expectation would be A LOT higher (as in JUST cuddling) and I don't know if he cared or not, but it was definitely NOT comforting to know the expectation there that's "acceptable" is more than cuddling. If he's shirtless on the beach running with his dog, that's one thing but if he's blatantly posing, he's definitely "looking" for more than cuddling- and just like with facebook, it's completely possible to just keep scrolling too!

  • I try not to be judgy about this. Judging women on their clothes is a little too retro for me. Existing with any kind of beauty is not sending a message. It's just existing while beautiful, busty, etc.

  • Two truths can exist at the same time.

Of course there are pros who are doing it for the male gaze.
Of course there are clients who want to cuddle with someone they find attractive.
Neither of these automatically mean that either party is looking for something non-platonic.

  • Well the OP is banned so perhaps he was the one showing too much skin

  • I'm not surprised the op is banned. His post seemed like subtle manipulation. He was testing the waters though. He knew very well what the definition of platonic was regardless of how a pro dresses. He gave off a "why don't you tell me where all the sex workers are on this site so I can make sure to avoid them extra hard wink wink" vibe πŸ˜†
