Did anyone try using GenAI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot to refine their bio. I just tried mine and are the options I got back. Pretty interesting

Option 1: Professional & Direct
"Our professional and personal obligations often take precedence, sometimes causing us to lose sight of ourselves in the process. My goal here is to rediscover my individuality and build meaningful connections while maintaining a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and clear boundaries."

Option 2: Warm & Personal

Option 3: Concise & Modern

Option 4: Reflective & Soft

    It comes across as vague and sterile. It tells me nothing about you as a person. I get the sense it is trying to say what you think everyone wants to hear rather than hitting little notes that convey information about you. So it says you are on a journey. We all are (except Steve Perry 🤣) but it is very easy to correct. Like, “since my divorce a year ago, I have been on a journey to reconnect with that vibrant, happy guy I once knew.” We now something about you. But you get my drift. Make it you.

    @TheFunCartel thank you for your observation. Except few not on journey anymore still gets the royalties.
    Putting a GenAI disclaimer “AI-generated content may be incorrect” 😂.

    They are all meaningless waffle. Rubbish. Throw them out.

    Your bio should be unique. If it's true of any other person, then it's worthless because it's not about you.

    AI is potentially a very powerful tool but always remember that it has the same level of intelligence as a brick. I don't use AI much because it is so egregiously excrable, but here are my top tips for when you do.

    1) Learn how to use prompts properly. They must be clear, concise and specific.

    2) The output from AI is an input into your work. It's not the final result, it's a supporting document for your second draft.

    Regarding your profile, search for people a bit like you - age, sex, etc, and look for bios you think are good. Steal their ideas. Not their content, but their ideas. If somebody talks about X, and you like that, then talk in your own way about your equivalent of X.

    I will respectfully slightly disagree with your assessment knowing the fact that you feed your thoughts to the agent and they rephrase it, you review and reiterate.

    Tbh I kinda love that my chat gpt knows me sooo well! If you want to do something fun ask chat gpt “who am I at my core?” That being said. I have changed my profile many times over the last 8ish years. my current profile was written with slight prompting by Aster (my chat gpt) I normally would not admit to that but since it was brought up I would love to hear anyone’s opinion and if you would have guessed it was AI

    I appreciate all the feedback and one thing I do agree is the “YOU” should not be lost in the big picture. As a software engineer, GenAI and Agentic AI has become a part of my daily life. Microsoft nailed it by naming it as “Copilot” and you are still the Pilot.

    I always put bios through a generative-ai checker to see the likelihood of them being generated or not when they seem off- which they almost always are immediately. Someone too lazy to write a bio, or who uses it regularly, is not someone I'd feel comfortable being around. Just my preference!

    I think the trick is to use AI sparingly and have your boundaries. What's sad is these days I sometimes get accused of using AI when I haven't. I'm a writer and in the spaces where I can't preview it, I usually write my responses in text somewhere and proofread before I send it. Now it's good not to proofread and have some grammatical/spelling errors, lest you get blamed as a get regarded is not human 😅

    All depends the prompt you provide. The more details the better, you can also tell the prompt to humanize the response so it looks more natural

    By this point, wouldn't it just be easier to write the bio yourself?

    @TxTom Lol so true.

    It's still the want to make something look sophisticated and/or perfect. Comes off inpersonal. And more work than actually coming up with your own bio.

    Oh man, this is an icky topic, yet fascinating.

    There's no nice way to say this, but sometimes I come across profiles where the photo simply doesn't match the vibe of the About Me blurb, whatsoever... Like you know either AI wrote that, or else they are the epitome of "Don't judge a book by its cover". 😆

    So I finally ran one through Google to ask if it was written by AI...shocker, of course it was.

    I was curious then, so I ran paragraphs of my own profile through to see how accurate the thing is. I was delighted to see it coming back with stuff like "100% human". More interestingly, however, was that it wasn't always 100%. So I guess my brain is 3% AI, 5% of the time? 😆

    In any case, I was disgusted to realize people are using AI to write their profiles for them. I guess I'm just old school or naive, but I really didn't know people did that until recently.

    I find it very disappointing, and honestly... Like an overuse of filters on photos, what is the point? When anyone meets you, they'll see your real face and hear your real words and they'll know you were lying.

    I just don't get it.
