The reality is that, for many people, looks do matter. If I'm going to pay for a cuddle session, I want to spend that time with a woman who is at the very least aesthetically pleasing (feel free to substitute "pretty", "attractive", "lovely", etc if it makes you feel better). Naturally I also want someone who is pleasant to talk with and hopefully shares at least some of my values.
Now if we're talking about an unpaid enthusiast, then appearance doesnt matter nearly as much.
One caveat - I've seen a number of people on this site who are beautiful by conventional standards, but the look in their eyes (just in photos!) scares the willies outta me.
As the mods have stated, Pro's are required to have a face shot, so this topic is a tad misleading.
That said, I've met up with cuddlers before without ever having their picture or having a clue what they look like. It doesn't matter to me.
One doesn't need a photo to identify someone - the solo person looking around expectantly isn't hard to find. There's also many other ways to identify someone you're meeting (blue shirt, curly brown hair, etc.). Not to mention, many people display pictures that are laughably unlike reality.
@illinoisguy56 There are mods who respond to flags on the board and mods who respond to profile reports. There's crossover, but one does not take away from the other. All flags and reports are dealt with.

Well, photos really do matter, even if it’s a strictly platonic service, especially the first time. In later interactions, connection and compatibility play a much bigger role. 1) Safety is definitely a major factor. 2) Attractiveness is subjective (as they say, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”), but since it’s a paid service, customizing the experience is fair. 3) Because it’s such an intimate experience being with someone in this context, we’re naturally inclined to gather as much information as possible. Yes, there are descriptions and interest details available, but seeing a picture of someone’s warm smile or glimpses of their everyday life makes it feel more real. It also makes it easier to form that human connection that I believe we all seek here.
It’s very interesting how much a photo reveals about someone and even more is revealed if they refuse to provide one. I require one if we’re going to have a session.
