Cuddle Party LA Closing

"Cuddle Party LA Members,

I have decided to shut down the Meetup by middle of November.

The meetup was intended to attract people to my Cuddle Party events. Over the past year, I have had new members join the Meetup but only a few people actually have attended my events."

Disheartening. I know two guys on CC tried to host a cuddle party in LA and they fizzled out. Is it because LA is so spread out? Because the hosts were male? Timing? I'm sure it's a variety of things.

Even with a huge population an LA Cuddle Party is a tough sell.

I think it's the curse of meet up groups, hundreds of members but very few actually attend events. Not sure what that says about Western society...

I think it mostly says "who the fudge really uses Meet Up?" Meet up groups always seemed outdated to me anyways. I belonged to 3 and barely read the cuddle one because it was always the same 4 guys or same 3 guys and 1 girl. And always in Brentwood! Maybe change the location once a month??

Even tho I'm not a social media fan I'm assuming a closed Facebook page would have better interaction.

@Brandi is on point. Both of the LA parties had quite a few people confirm (I was 50/50 on both parties) and then cancel at the last minute.

@chococuddkes. For me, the problem with Meetup is that once you are on one Meetip group list, they bombard you with all kinds of suggested groups for you. A few of them are appropriate suggestions but mostly it’s just throw a bunch at you and maybe one clicks. So every now and then comes a group “Fee money for far gay men,” and I bite. To see what it’s all about I have to join,and once I see what the deal is and recognize that it’s not for me. I click off, but I probably don’t bother to take my name off the group. Pretty soon, the Meetup group looks like it has a healthy membership. So in time, I’ve come to decide that Meetup is for groups that haven’t yet found how to effectively network. But you had to try. Don’t give up on your idea, just give up on Meetuo Groups.

Honestly I have been wanting but I am nervous about the whole thing... I have seen similar things on Fetlife as well. I would be interested though and would like to talk to people more beforehand. I also haven't cuddled at all so that in itself...But I am open to it

Actually I was introduced to this site by someone on Fetlife. Sadly she is no longer on this site but glad she brought me here. I've seen those meetings on Fetlife but have yet to go to one. Baby steps I guess.

@chococuddles and @Brandi if you think LA is full of transient people or people who wouldn't give a rats booty, welcome to my reality in Vegas. Brandi hit the nail on the head. Both markets are huge but filled with flaky people in both LA and Vegas. That's why the Vegas cuddle party meetup hasn't been active since last year, I do know there is an individual by the name of Alaska Osbonre that is trying to get cuddling going again starting Wednesday in Vegas. Her business is called Seeking Cuddles
