@SpicyNSweet for real. And I’m an enthusiast. I don’t get paid. But that just means the cost is different. I have to like you and feel safe with you. I require time, intention, effort, and a personality. So maybe not cash. But those certainly seem to be things many folks are lacking.
@SleepySheep1 I heard you, and I agree with much of what you said actually. If you read my response to penguin then you know that I was a pro at one time myself and it is definitely much different. I’m sure ForMen than it is women. With what you described as the emotional labor, if you go through and read many of the bios of the pros, they invite that. Their wording is very specific, many saying this is a safe space for you to share whatever you want. I’m here to listen to you., Your secrets are safe with me, etc., etc.. So we first must look at sometimes the bios themselves are misleading
I’m personally not opposed to people getting paid for their service. However, I absolutely think that consumers have an absolute right to complain for pricing that is above service when the service was not quality. For instance, if you go to a mentor or consult that is charging $150-$200 an hour, and you decide to take a chance and pay that., And they have deemed themselves to be a professional in their field yet their service is not quality, you absolutely have a right to complain about that is that with one of those actual real professionals, you could actually complain to the Better Business Bureau about their lack of quality service.
I’m a healer myself, and so my view on practices in these type of arenas is going to look a little different because we have the ability to really change the world one person at a time, but just as I expressed a penguin, you were probably the exception and not the norm or the rule when it comes to taking this practice serious and when it comes to actually being a pro.
The other issue is safety, which is a big issue and I understand that but what I find interesting is that every female pro I’ve ever asked, and it has been quite a few, if they would want their mother or sister doing this? Not a one of them has said yes. And the reason being is because it is dangerous. You have to do your own vetting, you’re literally meeting a stranger for cuddling. However, if one makes that choice, then know that it comes with the territory. Safety measures should be put in place because SA is real for women and there have definitely been cases on cc. But on the flipside of things, I know that some of us men would really appreciate if some women would stop trying to tell us what our experiences have been like, especially when we are telling you what our experiences have been like.
I’m an entrepreneur who sells cheese. This site is a good place for me to make a buck because my cheeses pairs well with whine.
Oh...so it is dangerous for us? Who are we in danger from?
I’m just addressing the post. But this is usually an attack group, so I’m not thin skinned and always come prepared. I personally don’t care about pricing to be honest, but I do care about healing people. I don’t care about pricing because I’m just not gonna pay it myself. I’ve seen too many call themselves professionals who just aren’t professionals. As a matter of fact, the number of nonprofessionals for exceeds the number of professionals in this space When it comes to actual skill. But the question was posed, and so I responded. And thus far none of you have given me any reason to reconsider my position.
I don’t know you tell me who you are in danger from? You’re the pro not me. And most pros I know cuddle both men and women so you tell me where the danger is.
Ah, choosing to be disingenuous I see. That's certainly a choice.
One of the greatest gifts given, choice!
I'll take life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness instead. All of which are taken from me and other women when gender redacted behave selfishly and with malicious intent. 🤷✌️
Well, if that’s happened to you, I’m sorry. But I match energies and therefore with the snide remarks that I’ve seen you give in this feed, I realize there was no reason for me to be genuine with you at all. I don’t owe you that. I give that to the people who wanna have clear understanding and clear dialogue so that we can get to resolution. You don’t fit that category. But I do provide spiritual consultation if you want to deal with some of those traumas that you carry with you. ✌🏾
Oh I'm perfectly happy and healthy without your assistance, thanks☺️ You've shown us all your priorities and values, so I'm all good lol
@mccuddleman As you have already have witnessed, there is this strange generalized man hating that goes on in the forums. I do think a lot of it stems from trauma. But the one thing that is beautiful is the actual community where you can find some really cool individuals who'll care for you.
Just remind yourself that at least 50% of the world suck, and others told me that I'm being optimistic, so do the math and you're going to likely get the same kind of situation with pros. Just as they deal with the same in clients. Enthusiasts are more difficult to platonically connect with here than on a dating app, so it is a lot of throwing a line out to the nether and not getting any response back.
There is not much of a verification system on this site. Pros aren't really professional at anything even though some will show certs and some made-up terminology. It's the usual as "organic" in advertisement. They are just able to monetize. Cuddle Comfort takes a cut out of their booking, so be careful if they try to make you pay the cut. That happened to me.
The bottom line is if it wasn't for the client's money, this community would crash. Enthusiasts and all. The is the most popular cuddle site by far and the mods are volunteers. So it's still small and does not offer many built-in tools for safety other than the report function.
@mccuddleman
I believe you misunderstood my comment.
You said "With what you described as the emotional labor, if you go through and read many of the bios of the pros, they invite that. Their wording is very specific, many saying this is a safe space for you to share whatever you want. I’m here to listen to you., Your secrets are safe with me, etc., etc.. So we first must look at sometimes the bios themselves are misleading."
I explicitly said I don't mind giving emotional labour unreciprocated when it's explicitly talked about, and I'm being paid for it.
It was a problem when that wasn't an expectation for a mutual cuddle when I was an enthusiast and therefore I wasn't getting paid for it.
I obviously don't mind such as a Pro. Hence why such a category exists. Some people don't want to give and take, they just want to take, and that's fine, but should be upfront and apparent, and women shouldn't be expected to give that for free.
Also while you have a right to complain about unsatisfactory service, that is different than arguing the service is bad generally everywhere or that it is not worth paying for at all.
There was simply a lot of lack of nuance in your previous comments that I assumed to be down to ignorance, not malice, and I wanted to shed light on where you may be misinformed or looking at things from a biased angle.
I'm sorry your location has led you to having trouble getting a positive experience from this site, genuinely.
@Huggycatbear you're literally downplaying the fact women are in more danger from men. Acknowledging that fact isn't hating men! I'm engaged to one 🤣 I absolutely love good men. Acknowledging this does not in any way excuse or deny abuses men experience at the hands of men or other women.
@Huggycatbear I thank you for your response and for the genuine conversation as opposed to the bashing. Yes, I’ve been in this space for a while and I’m very aware of the inner workings so to speak. I don’t come over here to the forum often because of what you initially said about the generalizations as it pertains to men. And I have found some very very good people via this site, but trust and believe it was not in this forum that I found them. There is a lot of trauma that people hold and what’s scary is, that same trauma, and the same things that they claim they have gone through, they will then turn around and go and cuddle with someone of the opposite sex while they’re still holding on to that resentment. That’s scary, for man or woman. I will say some of my most genuine experiences have been with enthusiast. And although many are not as receptive as the pros, the conversation tends to be more upfront, truthful, and the platonic connection is more authentic. . Not saying that there aren’t good pros but you do really have to search. I appreciate you and I hope that you continue to have positivity and abundance on your journey.
I just want to extend my appreciation to some of the men in this and other threads. I see some of you show up regularly and some of you are new to me. But it’s nice to see grounded, thoughtful, respectful, and genuine responses that take into consideration the needs of others and when it doesn’t apply, you don’t take it personally.
@sausalito @SelfMadeJay @TheFunCartel @Mike403 @Nickoli
There are others in other threads but this is who showed up here.
Bravo to you! You give me hope.
@SleepySheep1 thanks for your response but now I think that you may have misunderstood me. Just because I respond when a question is posed doesn’t mean that I’m having a poor experience myself. Like I said previously, I travel the country so it’s not a location thing. I also talk to others. So please don’t equate one with the other meaning don’t think that because I’m making comments here that I’m dissatisfied because actually I’m not. I have a right to complain about the money because I can. I have a voice and I can use it for that. Does that mean I spend that money? No I don’t. When their prices go up, my wallet closes. But in the same regard if I know someone who has a high price and they are providing quality service then I will absolutely pay for that.. So my statement still stands most who have those prices don’t provide the quality. Now you can try to pass it off as it’s just me and my location, but sometimes it would just be nice if women just listened to men as opposed to always trying to go and defend other women. And the interesting thing is that the ones who I have great connections with they will say the same thing that I’m saying and they’re women, and they would say it without me having to say anything. But anyway, if there was a miscommunication on my part I’m sorry and thanks for your clarification..
Let's get back on topic. The subject is "Why is Pro/paid for even an option on here?" This is not the price complaint thread. The next comment that complains about prices is going to win it's creator a timeout. - BlueIris
To address the original question:
After my marriage ended, I isolated myself from just about anything social, save for seeing my sister weekly, for about a year and a half. As I began to imagine crawling out of it, I had a lot of anxiety about the idea of spending time with strangers. I had such low self worth, the idea that I’d be worth meeting or spending time with… nah. I found out about this site and that there were folks offering a service of being available to spend time with, and it sounded like the perfect way to simulate meeting someone new and connecting with them. I was wrong about one thing—it wasn’t a simulation of connecting with someone, it was actual connection. The fact that it was offered as a service helped me feel safe from the risk of rejection, which would have been insurmountable. And I didn’t need to worry if it was an emotionally balanced, reciprocal experience. I was upfront about the difficult place I was in prior to confirming sessions, and was always met with care and kindness.
tldr: I was hella needy and didn’t want to risk rejection or make someone listen to me for free lol
@Comet85 that’s really sweet 🌸 I’m sorry you went through that rough time but you had strength in there to recognize what baby steps needed to be taken to go forward and you did it. I’m happy for you 🤗🤗🤗
@Comet85 Thank you for sharing your positive experiences with us. I’m so glad you found a safe landing space! 🤗
@mccuddleman I will no longer be responding as it seems you have gone very off topic. I quoted something you said which had no relation to my original comment (and still does not) and I acknowledged you had poor experiences, but as someone who's utilized pros for years, and have male friends who also have on this site and we have never had bad experiences in my neck of the woods, I'm sympathetic to you being in an unideal area for one reason or another. I am not generalizing every pro is good, I was correcting your overgeneralization that most are bad and good ones are rare. That may be your experience, and I won't discount it, but it's not reflective of the entire country as there's no way you've traveled across every state and utilized every pro.
You're free to do what you wish, but let's not pretend there isn't a market for this, and people who are good at it, because if that was the case this site wouldn't exist, nor the numerous anecdotes people have given on here regarding good experiences. I mean- are all 10 karma's I have on my profile fake?
I'm just not really sure what you're trying to convey, and why you feel it is a male-specific problem, am I not as prone to having poor service with pros? I doubt they are specifically just giving men poor service.
I appreciate you hearing me out, but I just think you may be conflating a lot of issues and assuming they broadly apply to everyone.
Thanks @Sheena123 @mauvefox I’ve met some absolutely amazing folks through the site and it’s been a big part of me feeling like I can belong among people.
@Comet85 divorce is a brutal experience, and I'm happy you were able to heal partly through cuddling and the human connection you can discover 🥰
@Comet85 Yay! I’m so glad you were able to find what and who you needed to through being here. I feel similarly. I’ve met some fantastic people on here.
Simply, there are two options to get dental treatment. the first is going to college (training students) and getting a free treatment by students with specialists supervision, while the second option is to go directly to specialist and pay for treatment. So, it's your decision to make.
It bothers me when people mock a platform by saying things like, “basic human needs are being monetized.” That framing comes across as entitled to me. Nobody, especially a stranger, is owed someone else’s time, energy, or care for free or without reciprocation.
A healthier mindset—especially for boys or men to avoid being lost in life, is where a lot of identity and pride is tied to contribution. You should aim to give more to the world than you take.
Monetization isn’t inherently a bad thing. It often drives quality, professionalism, and better experiences. When people are compensated, they can show up more consistently and intentionally, which benefits everyone involved.
@Comet85 I relate to what you said. There were times in my life when I didn’t feel like anyone should or even could understand my particular trauma/death that brought me here. Paying someone to listen actually made me more comfortable opening up. It removed the feeling of burdening others.
And the best providers aren’t just “going through the motions.” They genuinely care, and you can feel that. When it’s done right, it can even become a mutually positive experience, supportive, attentive, and exactly what you’re looking for. I get theoretically that might be difficult one off if a cuddle pro had an especially busy week and like a mom with small children, may be “touched out” by the end of that workload..😁
This site has been so positive for making me stronger and well with the money. Also I always find it intriguing that personality and character fit with me beat certificates and education every time, at least in my experience.
When I joined this community at the very beginning, I was also one of those who posted a thread "Concerned about how pricing seems out of control". Especially in the Austin area where I live. I paid similar/less price for professional therapists with degrees and all. But through that thread, I was being told/educated/grounded by more senior members here on how this platform works and on top of it, the most important thing is the women's safety. Anything that comes free, we abuse it. Period.
I have had beautiful conversations and cuddle sessions so far. The process of knowing some of the pros was therapeutic. They never pressured me to book a session nor changed their tone when I did not, even for months. I even talk to people who live far away and some from other countries. They know that I would never be able to book a session. One pro even gifted me White noise machine when she got to know that I wake up multiple times in the night. There are people who DO CARE very much if you have patience and not looking for any instant gratification. Putting a price can weed out junk and can bring quality service. Not guaranteed though but a better probability.
On the other hand, there are other pros that I did get messages 'Hey! I saw you visited my profile. When would you like a session?'. Either they say this without even looking at my profile or ignored what I stated on my profile that I like to get to know before setting up a meet up.
There are both kinds of people. As men, unfortunately we have some sort of disadvantage on these sorts of platforms or dating apps but we also have privileges. On the other hand, Women have to put themselves in a very vulnerable, unsafe situations. If we start thinking about it, then probably we will stop complaining.
I do like to acknowledge the part of OP. The advertisement of this site could be misleading/bait. Probably causing this whole frustration.
n take away for Pros maybe maybe my personal opinion is - try to get to know by making an attempt. Something on their profile, some sort of way showing that you care like what @penguin34 @SleepySheep1 mentioned. We men melt easily.
Outside of cuddling, this platform provides much more. Various topics you can discuss/participate/post. You can get to know people from all over the world. Their stories, their cultures, their lifestyle so many things. There are cuddle meetups that you can fly to and meet fellow enthusiasts.
I am very happy and appreciative of this community so far. Lots of learning, self reflection on my opinions and how I feel about pros now compared to the beginning times. Thankful for all of that!
I’ve seen Prices for cuddles starting at $40 hr and up so there’s a whole range of prices and very reasonable and while there are some higher prices I think it’s fine.
I recommend that anyone complaining about not getting what they want- read the 5th comment in this thread from @MonkeyNeedsAHug My opinion is that promises made by the site creator are ridiculous, anyone with common sense should know that they’re not magic and they can’t control the behavior of online strangers.
