Smallest Wins

What was your latest smallest win?

I feel we don't give enough credit to ourself for these smallest wins and downplay our own efforts.

My latest smallest win was -
Able to get back to Yoga/Light workout after 8 weeks of rehab from shoulder injury.
Though I don't feel anywhere close to my 100% and what I was before the injury, I am so happy to get back to things that I enjoy, that moves me.

We don't realize until we fall sick/or not able to things that we do in our day-to-day lives. Life will always humble you.

  • That really resonates with me as someone who lives with a progressive and degenerative autoimmune arthritis. Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's one many able bodied people don't/can't grasp easily. I was one of them!! Until it happened to me.
I'm sorry you were injured, but it's great to hear you're getting back to it! ☺️
As for small wins, I let myself sleep until I woke up today. No alarms. That NEVER happens. I slept until noon thirty !!! ha ha ha I must have needed it. 🤣🤣🤣

If you’re referring to RA, I have it also and it pretty much ended my career. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it also. I was diagnosed at a pretty young age but it’s been in remission a few times when younger.

  • I'm so sorry @Carrie_Anne 💔

Mine is psoriatic arthritis, which broke my heart the day I got my official diagnosis, reading a quote online "it's like RA but worse." I just lost it. Nothing's helped so far and it's been years.

  • I would rather say my big win today. I just moved out of my childhood home that I purchased. It’s been lived in for over 45 years and there are was so much stuff. today I have cleared out everything but my rocks that I’m going to get tomorrow almost entirely on my own. I did get help from a couple of my exes for a bit and a couple of my best friends and of course from my young kids but the majority of it I just needed to do myself.

  • @SpicyNSweet
I’m so sorry and that’s one I don’t know about so I will read more.

    @KariMeiSnuggles
That’s a big one to face, especially getting through the sorting & clearing alone. I’m glad you’ve gotten some help. I’m facing that also, I can relate.

  • Have mental balance and peace

  • My small win yesterday overcoming my fear of replacing my toilet by myself. One plumbing company wanted $275 to do it and a handyman wanted $175 to do it. I made a few mistakes along the way but overcame my fear. Next up is overcoming my fear of the big city and visiting NYC.

My small win is sending a co-worker 14 chapters of my novel Unnatural Creatures and got hooked! She read it all in 2 days.

  • My small win was getting about 1/2 of my garden planted. (I like this particular thread)

  • Finished a big chunk of Japanese studying last night.

  • Finished a big chunk of Japanese

Good lord! I hope they were sedated! That’s worse than being eaten in one gulp by Godzilla.

  • My small win...cooking dinner before 8pm.

  • I woke up today .. last day of my 40's and instead of being sad I'm using it as a day if reflection on all my small and large victores of the past decade.

  • [Deleted User]Bluzy (deleted user)

Built two large raised garden beds and filled them with soil for planting. All in the midst of working two weeks straight.

  • @TheFunCartel i saw Godzilla Minus One in a 4DX theater. That was INSANE!

All I see in this thread are big wins. Well maybe one or two medium sized. So, congratulations everybody!

I've been working myself up to a small win for the last hour and a half ..... I will report back presently (with an edit) to let you know how I got on.

Edit: got the small win, which was getting up from the couch to make a cup of tea. 'Back of the net!', as Alan Partidge would say.

  • @CuddleDuncan -That's what my point was, we may not give enough credit or identify our small wins ;) myself included.
Well I will check for your update/edit in a bit.
