Jimmy Superfly Snuka and Junkyard Dog were two of my early favorites, but I don't watch it anymore. Random thought, but one of the things I hated was when Hulk Hogan would go into invincible mode where he takes punches, but it only makes him stronger. I guess it's kind of cool, but I was rooting against him.
@Bodhi777 crazy to think about how wild those two were irl. Seemed like such nice people.
Seems like pro wrestlers that portrayed scummy characters were super nice irl and the good guy characters were scumbags irl.
I remember liking Macho Man and Hulk Hogan when I was like 3 years old thanks to my uncle who used to really be into WWE(F). I had a macho man pillow/plush that I got from him on my 3rd birthday and had for years. Not sure what happened to it. I never really enjoyed watching it on TV though. I much preferred either playing with WWE action figures or playing WWE video games and creating my own custom characters to beat all the wrestlers up lol. I will say I used to be somewhat a fan of Yokozuna and The Undertaker. Never liked the Rock and all his hype though. I think that's part of the reason I didn't watch it on TV. Whenever he came to the ring in a video game I'd have one of my characters attack him quite a bit.

The last time I really watched pro-Wrestling was during the Monday Night Wars between WWF and WCW. That was a real rivalry!
I was also a fan of the various territories growing up, like NWA, Mid-South, WCCW, as well as the earlier WWF with Bruno Sammartino.
Now I don't really follow it.
Gotta go back and look at all the Ultimate Warrior and Macho Man promos for some great entertainment. Mean Gene knew how to play the straight man as well. RIP Legends
I was obsessed in my earlier years, not so much now but I still follow it and play the games.

Considering I've started watching WWE around the Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels days (Hulk Hogan in the WWF was a little before my time) I still have somewhat of a loyalty to the brand having watched it in the past 30 years although I don't like where the product is going now. Most millennials like myself would certainly say the best days of the WWF/E were the Attitude & Ruthless Aggression Eras when we had great stories and narratives with the former and a bevy of undeniable talent with the latter after the WWE acquired WCW when Vince McMahon bought the company and ECW after they folded.
AEW since it's inception has been the closest thing to a competitor to WWE since Prime WCW and it's good to have good options with wrestling and I'm definitely leaning more to AEW because the PPVs they have are INCREDIBLE. They have that kind of air WWE PPVs used to have back the late 90's to mid 2000's when WWE was absolute peak. TKO has watered down the WWE ever since their merger and it's kinda sad watching that go on in real time.
When I was like 13 I saw an old WWF match with Hulk Hogan , Ultimate Warrior , and a bunch of others . I remember thinking how they seemed like real life super heroes , larger than life. It was a pretty fun time for sure .
I used to love it, but it's really gone downhill the last few years. NXT is still pretty good, but I've also started following different promotions
WWE is in trouble. They have a talent problem. Relying way too much on old talent. Too many belts in woman’s division. Wrestlers are getting injured all the time. Their “premium live events” are unwatchable bc it’s loaded with commercials! Putting Rumble and Wrestlemania in Saudi Arabia? Gtfo. Imagine getting a pay per view and it’s riddled with ads. Not to mention all the ads in the fn ring. It looks like a UFC ring. Say what you want about Vince, he would never to that.
@Midnight01 well, the Saudis pay them a ton of cash for those events.
Yes, Vince was on record saying he wouldn't put ads on the ring mat. He felt that was sacred.
I quit watching as UFC bought them out. It's all gone down hill, and gotten too commercialized. Having all these celebs and promo on everything kills the show for me. Last wrestlemania I saw was boring. Story lines sucked, and over played. They had to lower prices last minute for wrestlemania this year to fill the stands. Price is ridiculous.
Jeff Jarrett's TNA and AEW are better to watch. Better wrestlers, better story lines, better action, less bs.

Overall, WWF > WWE.
Though wrestling was the most entertaining when Rock, Angle, and Stone Cold were at the top. UFC and WWE both went downhill after getting bought out. If ya smell what the H3LL YEAH is cookin. It's D@mn true.
Some of my favorite memories are my dad taking me to wwf/wwe events as a kid, then taking my own kids to them when they were old enough. Wrestlemania in Orlando was amazing. So many great things from that week we still talk about to this day.
I like what it promotes.
