What are some questions you should ask someone when introducing yourself?

I feel it is important to get to know an individual. I ask questions as a way of learning about someone. I don't give out my email or any form of contact until I am sure I am comfortable with the individual. I am curious as to what your thoughts are on this. I have had issues with this in the past with people asking for my contact right away and I don't know them well enough to do that.

  • I think this is a very good thread, based on the idiots you've told me about that keep asking you for contact information. Hopefully this will give them a clue, but they are probably people who don't care enough to learn about the site by reading the forum. It will be interesting to see how many other women report the same thing happening to them here.

  • I find that the people that want to take it off site right away do so because they typically want something they can't talk about here. However, that's not always the case. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. I personally don't mind giving out my email or phone number.

@sweetangelpm With all the free emai services today, like yahoo, gmail and 100 others, it would be easy enough to set up an email address to share that is not your main, personal email account. But I have to agree with @Scarlette. From my years on sites like this and dating sites, etc., the perso who is in a hurry to take communications off the site either wants to say and do what the site won’t allow, or they have already burned or scammed enough site members that they expect their site membership to be banned soon.

  • I have people on here who I speak with regularly off site, however that is only after some rapport and trust is built. I would have serious reservations about somebody who immediately wanted my number or email.

@pmvines send me tour number and we can text about this post.

  • I have joined a few dating sites myself and that is something I am very careful of always. i have a lot of miss trust and don't want to be scamed either. I have enough email account that creating is just too much. But, I am always clearlstatinig that please, let us get to know one another first before meeting. Right away after exchanging hellos or whatever, they right away want to meet. i am not going for that and I would want to have the respect of that and not so fast. I put this here because it is not only important to me as a woman, but to everyone here.

  • I also do that because I want to be able to learn about a person first. It is my first and being I am new to cuddling, I will feel more comfortable in a group setting first. that is asside from what I am saying. It may apply to the topic. Anyhow, thanks for all your input and I hope more will give responses to this.

Everyone's definition of friendship and the connections they seek is unique so I like getting to know that and what matters to them.

That way, we'll discover we're alike, different - still get along or not - or that we can work together to meet halfway with our 'needs' and 'wants'.

  • I would say there is a certain cushion of anonymity with meeting people online, as opposed to in person. I am an open book , however I probably seem more confident and self assured in internet form, as I'm sure the few people on here who I speak with outside of here and have met face to face can attest to.

  • Even though I meet someone online, I want to be self assured when I meet them in person as well. I still ask questions as well. Plus, the voice says a lot about a person.

  • I imagine more so to you because of being blind.

  • I go by inflexion and it helps. I wish sometimes I could see and thawould help. But, I am Thankful for the senses I can use. And, even the gifts I have been blessed with. I have to keep positive and not let that get to me. As a side note, there was a time when I did let life pass me by without not doing anything to stay positive. that is what I look for when I meet ppeople. You flock to that and it is contagious as well. I enjoy doing things as well to keep me positive as well. so, I want people that I meet to be like that as well. Happy, enjoying life. :-) <3 Not sure if that makes any sense to anyone. I have been blind for 34 years now so you have to depend on something to take the place of your vision. :-)

  • That certainly makes sense to me. I'm glad we found each other, so we can be positive influences for each other.

  • Yes, me too. And, I also say,I want a person to feel comfortable with me as a person. sure I have a disability and again, I don't like having my blindness. I use to be angry by not being able to see as well as others when I did have sight. there are times I wish I could drive and not depend on public transportation or someone helping me. but, there's nothing I can do. I have self acceptance and that is all that matters. some are not acpable or want to be with a blind person or much less be friends with them. Even feel that that person slows them down. And, I don't want anyone to feel like I am slowing them down and I down want to feel like I am doing that. I don't want to feel like I am taking away from someone's enjoyment of life either if there is a problem with my disability.

  • Well, I'm disabled myself with my bad back and knees, so how could I be not okay with yours.
    <3 Jim

  • I can’t argue with that. But I’m just saying that I found other people that have just seen me maybe once or twice, and it’s just I’m just not the right fit for them. And being that I am probably curious, and I have mentioned to you about the situation I had with two people that were not comfortable with my blindness, that’s why I say that. I want people to be able to look past the disability and look at the inner side of me. As a person. Everyone has a flaw. I’m kind of going off topic here but I didn’t realize it would go that way. But anyway, as I said everybody has a flaw, of some kind. And it doesn’t have to be visible. Sometimes people take things for granite and they don’t realize what they have until it’s gone. I want to scone they have to learn to adjust. And I know it’s an adjustment for you. As well because it is an adjustment for me.
So a lot of times I asked this question, when introducing myself, do you feel comfortable with someone who is blind? A lot of people say yes people but by the time they do meet me, I think they have a change of heart. At least the ones that I’ve have come in contact with in the past. But I know a lot of people see past that and they still continue to talk to me regardless. Because I see that I have a very sweet spirit and that I’m very kind and gift of my heart.
