What is wrong with my free cuddler request letter?

I've applied to a dozen free cuddlers, and gotten no responses, even though at least half of these were online recently. Can you tell me what's wrong with my approach? Here's an inquiry I wrote to one who said on her profile:

"I like to cuddle while napping, in nature"

Dear ---,
I'm not sure I want to nap in nature right now, but I found your profile heartwarming. I am an older man (but look young and am young in spirit). I am 5'6", slender, short grey hair with mustache and goatee. I can talk about anything (well, not sports),, including feelings, and appreciate all aspects of the feminine mind and personality. I am a writer and science enthusiast who has published 3 or 4 papers in different fields, and two of my translations of Herman Hesse's poetry. I have written a few 1-act plays (never produced) and the book and lyrics of a musical about mental illness: RELAX! YOU"RE NOT PARANOID-- THE WORLD REALLY IS OUT TO GET YOU!! I wd be very pleased if you wd like to try out snuggling with me. Looking for a long term connection that might bloom into friendship. I have a cat. Can host or travel

    @Murray,

    Maybe slow things down a little and get to know some people, make some and make friends and see if you can find a cuddler that way.

  • Thanks-- you mean I shd write a much shorter, possibly funny, letter, and not ask for a cuddle?-- Murray

  • By 'm' do you mean male friends?

  • @murray I don't think most people would want that as an introduction as you are not attempting to get to know anybody, you are merely talking about yourself and asking them to cuddle you. If you treat is as a friendship, and try to build some kind of rapport and small talk with the person, rather than cutting directly to asking to cuddle, you will be likely to have more success. Right now your approach is more likely to make the person keep you at arms length. Try to not overshare, sometimes less is more.

    @murray It sounds like a dating profile. You can say all that stuff once you are cuddled up with someone.

    Also form letters are never a good idea for trying to start a genuine connection.

    Read their profile and ask questions about them.

    Also "looking for a long-term connection". I wouldn't advertise that. Try to get a first meeting and see how it goes, get a feel for each other's energy, let it bloom organically. It's like when girls put "looking for marriage" on a dating profile. I'm like. whoa whoa...can't we talk first? Go out on a date first? Try to enjoy the journey without seeking a predetermined outcome.

    Less you, more them.

    Good luck and happy cuddling!

  • Thanks, all of you! --Murray
