Another thing I'm curious about

I've only recently just discovered this 'cuddling' thing. I mean I never knew before such a phenomenon as 'professional cuddlers' existed. But now I'm wondering why is it predominantly men paying for women cuddlers? Are there any women who pay men for cuddling? Or, are women able to get cuddling free, whereas men are not. But that seems odd when traditionally it has always been women who like cuddling more and are always complaining they don't get enough from their men. But the financial transactions indicate the exact opposite, men like it much more and are willing to pay for it whereas women are not. Can anyone throw some light on this?

  • For me I get my cuddle needs provided for by women most often if I’m in a relationship or not . I think it’s because women cuddling with women friends is more socially acceptable so women can get their needs met easier . Men in society get a lot of clack if they cuddle each other as friends many were not brought up to even consider cuddling that wasn’t sexual let alone ok to do with male friends . Which makes men much more touch starved . Also I think because of safety concerns women are less likely to reach out to get cuddled from strangers and stick close to home for their cuddles by friends and family .

  • @cuddlebugTM Even though my best friend is a woman who actually did the paid cuddling thing for a while and still does every once in a blue moon, we actually don't do a lot in the way of cuddling when we have hung out. I mostly just play with her hair and scratch her back til she goes to sleep, maybe hold hands and hug some, but she wont even let me give her a proper back rub, touch her feet, legs, face, etc, and forget any kind of full body contact cuddle positions. Reason being is for her that is something she feels comfortable with either women, or a significant other, but not guy friends, even though I'm her bestie and am closer to her than any other guys she has known. So I understand where you are coming from.

  • @cuddlebugTM - you make some excellent points. I had not thought of those angles. For myself, I get most of my 'touching' needs met by having regular massages where I get to have a woman's hands on my body, and it has some physical benefits as well. However having to pay for a 'service' does take away from the experience somewhat since the motivation for what you are receiving does have an effect.

  • You don’t pay to there are female enthusiast as well it just takes more time to cultivate those relationship . People pay so they can get their needs met now !!

  • I'm not aware of any masseuses giving free massages but it's a nice fantasy! I make an appointment just like I do for a dental visit.

  • You live in a beautiful part of the country. My two daughters and I visit California every summer. We especially like Ventura, Carpinteria, Santa Barbara and Solvang, but we've been up and down the coast many times.

  • I’m talking about cuddlers not masseuse

  • I grew up here . Most of my time as a kid spent my time in orange country

  • @cuddlebugTM - I don't know of any women giving free cuddles either. It's been 5 years since I got divorced and I have not met a single woman in all that time. My two daughters are the only female contact I have.

  • No enthusiast in your area ?

  • You could always check if there are any guys who cuddle in your area too....just putting it out there for consideration.

  • I agree with @cuddlebugTM! It is much more socially acceptable (I find) for women to cuddle each other or ask their guy friends for it without sounding strange.

  • True, at least where I live. We can fix that with some effort though.

  • Yes you can always grow and try new things . I think many men would find cuddling men very helpful if they could get past the societies judgment and conditioning of it all . The men I know in my life that can cuddle men i notice have less problematic ideas about masculity , emotions and intimacy .

Strangely enough, I have found being on the receiving end of cuddles difficult to achieve. Whenever I have tried to cuddle with a significant other where I am the "little spoon", I feel them become uncomfortable and there is inevitably a shift where I am cuddling them. Does this happen to anybody else?

  • It seems you may have negative views of women, based on your experiences? "Women always complaining they don't get enough from their men" and "are women able to get cuddling free, whereas men are not".

I know you're genuine in asking, but women pay for cuddles too - as well as some men wanting more affection than their partner gives. It just hasn't been your experience. Sometimes, it's a case of who pays for it because they want it immediately and who patiently makes the effort to build a friendship first. Both are okay, but one will cost you and the other is free.

Also, sometimes the only people we're cuddle-compatible with, in our area, are professionals - as there's not a huge group of free cuddlers online, when you break it down into locations.

  • I have a few female clients I cuddle with . They pay for cuddles often . They are more comfortable cuddling a woman they don’t know well rather than men . I think the safety issues are part of it as well.

If I could afford to, I'd probably pay for a cuddle with a woman sometimes, if I was struggling to find one to make friends with and cuddle for free.

So far, I've only been messaged by men who haven't read my profile. They've only seen "woman" and location, so didn't think to see who I wanted to cuddle with. They said they were happy to build up to it which, again, dismisses what I've put on my profile.

Sometimes it's our experiences that create our comfort zones and that's why we stick to them for a while.

  • @sir_zevach When my wife initiates cuddling from behind, with me effectively being the "little spoon", I believe that there is the unspoken understanding that we would change positions to me being the big spoon and her back to little spoon. The Big Spoon position is the one I am most comfortable with. But then my favorite position is face to face full body contact, where she is lying atop me with her head just below mine on my chest or even cheek to cheek. A few of the pros I've seen have fallen asleep for some time in that position.
