Cuddle locations when neither cuddler can host?

edited March 2018 in General

Hi, I am traveling 60 miles to meet a prospective cuddler, but she can't host. I am aware of the "public cuddle" options of movies and parks, and that will be nice as spring comes along, but I am also wondering about other options that people have discovered. I had 1 friend suggest that I ask her if she has a friend that would allow the use of their apartment, and I had another friend suggest that I ask her about Air B&B rooms, but I don't know how well those suggestions would go over. To me, it almost sounds like I am proposing something nefarious or something. I can't quite put my finger on it, and maybe i am just paranoid. Any thoughts?

  • Good idea with Airbnb. Might be cheaper than a hotel, which is another popular option.

  • Air Bnd would be no different than a hotel . Also I just found a place in Palm Springs that do day rooms at spas for use of room as well as mineral hot tubs that sounds good !! It’s cheaper than a room and then after cuddles I can relax and enjoy a soak .

  • Book stores with lounge sofas and chairs, coffee shops , movies , mall , club or pub may all work depending on amount of time with person and level of desired activity. Could seem s bit date like I suppose but then again so can cuddling so it's all about what you make of it and where your head is at really

In my opinion it's always a good idea a communicate openly ahead of time. You can talk on phone or do skype or face time. The best way is to meet in public place and if you both feel comfortable you can choose a hotel room.

  • I had a pro tell one of my friends she has a nice setup in her large SUV Mobile cuddles.

  • @cuddlebugTM why would Airbnb be no different from a hotel? Personally, I would be WAY more comfortable in an Airbnb than a hotel, and it's usually cheaper for nicer facilities. Depends on your preference though. I'm an Airbnb type of girl :-)

In the way that it’s no more suspicious it’s just cheaper and could even feel safer

  • Yeah, I thought it sounded better because it's more like a home. Same reason a lot of people prefer to travel using Airbnbs :-)

  • Seems to me a hotel would be safer. They have security cameras, and I would prefer knowing there are people in nearby rooms rather than go to some unknown, possibly isolated person's AirBnB home.

  • @BlueIris my preference for Airbnb would probably be after an initial meeting, at the same point I would be comfortable moving to my house or theirs. You can pick one where the people are home and/or base on location, whatever you're comfortable with. I just thought it would make for a more comfortable and warm environment than a hotel bed. But I hate hotels, lol. Even the nicest ones I feel are gross ;-) Immediately strip the comforter off and try to minimize what you touch in the bathroom, lol.

Also, even better if you have an Airbnb host in a needed location who understands your work. I am a host and frankly I would be more trustworthy as a safety person than some stranger in the room next door at a hotel. I could know ahead of time what's going on and assured to call the police if I hear any distress or a code word, for example. It's amazing how many strangers won't call anyone if they hear a scream. Just another perspective. :-)

  • I've used both Airbnb and hotels very frequently. I'm headed to NJ tonight for for a 2 night hotel cuddle trip. I personally prefer hotels because my clients prefer hotels. Discretion is of utmost importance and dragging my clients through someone's living room as they are watching tv is not very discreet. Nor is sharing a bathroom. My clients like nice hotels so that's what I book. I consume the full cost of the hotel as I completely book out my trips. If I'm traveling to an area for just one client they will get the room or Airbnb. Whichever, they prefer. I feel far safer in a hotel. @Morpheus I LOVE the idea of a mobile cuddle vehicle!!! Genious!

I suppose public is always safer, when it comes to first meetings, even if the client wants discretion. After that, I think Airbnb is more affordable, which many cuddlers need, yet hotels are possibly safer - which I suppose is always a risk when cuddling strangers, regardless of location, unless in a highly public area.

  • If I still had my cargo van it would be setup as a mobile cuddle vehicle. And I would change my name to the cuddle van man.

  • I have a Volkswagen van that the back seat turns into a bed. With a quilt and some nice pillows it might work. All of the windows have curtains so it would be private. All seems a bit tawdry though. I can host at home so I wouldn't need it unless my cuddling partner could not host or travel.
