Thinking of posting on reddit to educate people about cuddling

edited April 2018 in General

Since platonic and professional cuddling are so generally misunderstood, I was thinking about posting something educational on reddit about it.

I wasn't sure where at first. r/AskReddit is very popular, but it could be annoying to post there then answer my own question, and r/AMA (Ask Me Anything) isn't quite what I am looking for either. I know there's an r/CuddleBuddies, but that would be preaching to the choir!

I found a general subreddit called r/TellReddit, but it doesn't have many subscribers. The best one to use might be r/self, which is described as: "A place to put self-posts for discussion, questions, or anything else you like."

Before I go and do that, I was wondering if anyone else who is familiar with reddit has any advice?

I also came across two interesting "Ask Me Anything"s from a male and female professional:

Travis in Los Angeles, California

Samantha Hess in Portland, Oregon

  • If you do an AMA you would have to decide how you would like to present yourself “I am a professional cuddler AMA” or “I frequently meet with professional cuddlers: AMA” and be willing to answer their questions.

There is r/casualama, r/IAmA, or just standard r/AMA. I believe most of those subreddits allow request posts where you can make a post requesting a pro to do an AMA. The request post usually generate discussion as well.

You could do a r/askmen post asking how they feel about it or if anyone has ever used it to open discussion. Just a warning that may not go that great but it could open the door for a conversation.

R/asexuality is also another good place because it may have people who aren’t interested in sexual contact but are looking for physical contact in other ways.

And an r/askreddit could be good but it does get oversaturated so you just need to make sure it’s a question that can be expanded beyond a yes or no and will catch attention so people want to respond.
