If you haven't watched this film, it is worth seeing. What does this have to do with cuddling? I think it makes a tremendous statement about how imperative real human interaction is, and that cuddling is about as deep and direct as we can get. The film revolves around a man who is on the verge of a divorce, and is lonely and like many, caught in a cycle of eating/sleeping/working.
When a new mobile O/S is released that acts much like Alexa or Siri (but on a much more personal level), the main star of the film develops a "relationship" with O/S, (named Samantha). He later realizes that this O/S was using him to develop a "better product" and that Samantha was actually "in love" with thousands of other users.
What is does is steer him to reconciling, and the end result IMO is the desire for real, actual human contact supersedes all of the pretenses that are what social media and A/I effect the ability for humans to interact at a truly personal level.
The film is about 5 years old but very relevant. Got me to pondering why many of us are here. We all crave real, unpretentious human contact. Something that is harder to come by as the days go on. Cuddling is analog of water for a healthy emotional and social existence. This film reminded me of how important this contact truly is.
