I Made A Cuddle Chat Server

[Deleted User]MoonlightSonata (deleted user)

I was having fun with the Discord chat app and I made a chat server for people to talk to other people in the cuddling community on.

I asked Mark and reurbo if I could post it here and they said I could. :)

It has a section where pros can promote their profiles, sites, and other social media.

It has a section where people can post cuddle parties that they are organizing or request to join a cuddle party.

There is a general chat and lots areas to share pictures, videos, and other media too.

Feel free to join here if you like: https://discord.gg/juqRNNe

@TangibleTony Thank you so much for joining and also for adding me as a friend on Discord too. :)

@angela10 You are very welcome. And thank you so much for joining. :)

  • Sounds like a good idea. I just clicked on the site and it asked to install on my phone and then it asked for a credit card.
Why would I need to give credit card info?

  • You don't need to. Just download the app for free and you'll be good.

  • How is Discord? Does it work well? Is the app ok?

The last time I used Discord, I was part of a chat server for online gaming with MechAssault II LoneWolf for the Xbox. They're mainly oriented towards gamers, but otherwise good stuff.

Discord uses less computer resources that alot of other chat apps. It has voice and text chat. It can do video in a limited way though also. If you do pay you can get a few extra features.

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

You can add voice channels on the server as well.

Discord has an authority problem with installing itself wherever it wants. You can smack it back into place and it doesn't complain so it's not pure vomit but it's pretty bad for that. I don't know what would happen if it didn't have install permissions for the directory it chooses.

Other than that it uses 150mb of ram which is high compared to something like ventrillo which uses less than 10% of that, but discord does offer a few extra features. It also loads incredibly slow.

It works fairly well though, which is a plus. A mixed bag I guess.

talking about the windows version here

@MaxCuddle @Thellie Google Play asks for payment information on apps that have additional features that can be unlocked by paying for them. Discord chat app is free but you can pay for add-ons (which you don't really need. The free version is good enough). Whenever I get that message from Google Play, I just click the back button and it goes away. You should be able to install the app normally after pushing the back button.

@TomLaJolla @ShoShoZZ @curiousgeorge1 @JasonCuddles I personally like Discord a lot. It is easy to make chat servers with various rooms and voice chat rooms. The chat design is really smooth. The Discord chat app from Google Play runs really smooth on my phone. There is a version you can download for your computer, but I personally just visit the chat servers in a web browser because they load faster that way (in my opinion).

  • Thanks, everyone!

I havd never been asked for money from discord. You can also use discordapp.com in your browser.

  • I have a suggestion for this chat server. Schedule some group chat times in advance and post them here. It could help get things going. What do you think?
    @MoonlightSonata?

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

Especially for voice. The voice chat id at the bottom of the different channels

  • [Deleted User]MoonlightSonata (deleted user)

@TomLaJolla @curiousgeorge1 Having scheduled chats for the voice channel is a good idea. I did make a voice channel. It is under the voice channels tab, under 'general'.

I could maybe put a schedule for it pinned in the general chat room.

  • @MoonlightSonata I suggested it for General chat! When I enter the General chat area, it's hardly being used.
Plus I prefer typing to talking. I'm not using the voice channel.

  • [Deleted User]MoonlightSonata (deleted user)

@TomLaJolla Oh I see what you mean. I could make a schedule for both. :)

  • [Deleted User]MoonlightSonata (deleted user)

    @TomLaJolla You are very welcome.

  • [Deleted User]MoonlightSonata (deleted user)

    @TomLaJolla @TangibleTony @angela10 @MaxCuddle @Thellie @ShoShoZZ @curiousgeorge1 @JasonCuddles I made a chat schedule for the chat server.

    Does this look okay?

This is the text I put in the chat server:

Okay I am going to try to put some kind of chat schedule that we can follow for both the text general chat and the voice general chat.

You can chat at any time you want. This is just a general schedule so if people want to meet at specific times, they can look at the scheduled times and talk at those times.

Here are the scheduled chat times.

2:00 AM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

5:00 AM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

8:00 AM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

11:00 AM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

2:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

5:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

8:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

11:00 PM Mountain Standard Time (MST)

Again, feel free to chat at any time you like. This is just a schedule for people who would like to meet a specific times. If you have any suggestions for the schedule as in specific times you would like me to add, please let me know.

What do you guys think? Does it look okay? Let me know.

  • I love this idea!

I'm not very familiar with Discord, but I've been watching for a Kik group. I haven't found any yet, but this seems like a great alternative! (And if anyone is in a cuddle Kik group, please do share! : )

  • [Deleted User]MoonlightSonata (deleted user)

@IGuessImHete Discord is actually really easy to use. You can just open up the chat link in a browser window. No need to download anything. But they also have an app you can download onto your phone and an app for the PC as well. :)

  • @MoonlightSonata With your chat schedule, are you proposing 8 chat sessions on every day?

Not many people seem to be using the server yet. I would suggest having around 3 group chats scheduled each week. Post reminders on the forums. I think you'll draw more users with fewer sessions. After you have more regular chatters, then add more times.
    :)

@TomLaJolla What are the times that you think would work best for the chat sessions?

  • @MoonlightSonata I don't know. That's a good question. I'll think about it.
You could ask in the chat room also.
