How can I get people to stop contacting me on here?

  • This is why I don't have pictures of myself in the profile. To avoid the same issue. If I like the person and he is courteous enough to chat and establish a connection with me, I will be happy to upload a picture.

  • @KariEllen You certainly don't HAVE to respond to anyone you like, but when I read your profile, nothing in it gives me any indication that you are not expecting to be contacted. Perhaps a note there saying you rather don't get messages would save you some undesired traffic. Just my two cents

DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT ppl are going to reach out to you lol there is also a block button

  • As a non Pro who contacts Pros I would say I would prefer you to say no thanks rather than ignore the message. I had one pro respond to me after 2 weeks saying that they were just busy. I didn't know if they were ignoring my message or not available. If they keep contacting you after that then I suggest blocking them. On my old phone I used to get an email saying I had a message. On my new phone I do not, so I don't know what their situation is.

  • I find this thread very annoying. There are people in the world who are alone, have no one and would give anything to have a friend. Yet you have this person who is boo boo hooing about too many people contacting her.

  • @Morpheus - I agree, almost sounds like a fake profile.

Reminds me of people who advertise their products or services and then get angry when people actually respond to their ads.

    SMH

  • All these messages giving advice to the original poster and not a single thank you from her.

I have spoken to the OP several times, she is actually really sweet. She never said she doesn't want to be contacted by anybody, only that if she doesn't respond there is a reason for it and has been harassed and sent crude messages by quite a few people. The women on here have way more people contacting them as well as way more riff raff and ugliness to deal with and sort through than us men so try to have some respect and not be so preachy and judgmental and self entitled about it. It isn't our reality to deal with, its hers.

  • There’s a homeless man that lives in a cardboard box across the street from my work. He has cancer and no family or friends. That right there is what you call, reality.

  • Folks, you must all be aware by now that there are FAR more men on here (as enthusiasts) than women. I don't believe the original poster was trying to 'show off.' I think she is just dealing with a problem that the majority of folks on this website don't have to deal with. That doesn't mean she's wrong. That doesn't mean she should delete her account. (For you menfolks -- if she deletes her account, that just puts MORE men per women on the site!)

If you are a man, you may think that getting 200 messages a day sounds AWESOME; It is NOT. It is a freaking waste of time and energy. And for every encouraging message, you're going to probably get two nasty ones.

If you are a lady, you have to realize that there are a LOT of lonely men out there. :(

Let's be kind and try to imagine being in each other's shoes. <3

Very sad about a man with cancer and no friends or family. Not sure what if anything it has to do with the OP voicing issues with a group of people giving her a hard time of whom she wanted to somehow ignore....which btw has long ago passed, and perhaps others debating the merits of it has little relevance to anything....just maybe ...

  • I think he's just trying to remind all of us of the bigger picture.

  • There is always a bigger picture to everything, it is about relevance. Anyhow, I am done. OP hasn't even been on the site to speak up for herself so no use arguing about other peoples issues.

  • Yeah, oh well. She hasn't been back online, so it's kind of like she posted in here to complain and then didn't really care enough to come back to see what people's advice was =P :-/

  • ivlegend agree

  • Holy smokes. I read most of these responses. The OP is obviously attractive.

Even as a a middle-aged fat female I was a tad overwhelmed by the attention this past week. Having also been a young, thin female, I could guess OP is completely overwhelmed with responses. In fact, one reply on this thread noted she had over 200 responses her first night here.

The pretty ones cannot respond to everyone, even if you think they should.
