Is there a way to see all forum post by individual user?

Does anyone know how to search for forum post posted by a given user? I saw the following forum post by @respectful - https://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/3901/a-few-forum-stats
And that raised my curiosity to check out by top new discussion topic creators around what they all posts they have shared?

For e.g.: what all threads were started by @respectful or @pmvines or @mark or @morpheus or @brandi or @reurbo or anyone for that matter

Maybe that’s not a feature of value that everyone may see but for me I see it would be a cool feature if not already out there?

If at all @Mark finds this feature to be of value, I almost think having this as the 4th Tab on individual profile would be great! So just like visiting profile one can see About followed by Friends and followed by Karma. 4th can be Posts and when clicked it shows all the posts Initiated by the person at top and below another section comments but that might be overkill or maybe worth depending on how folks see it.. Just a thought!

It's unofficial though, so it may change.

Not sure how to find threads they've started though. (But it's easy to find your own ones -- just click on My Discussions. So you could ask someone else to send you theirs I guess).

It's a feature already in most forums. but since this is a ... work-in-progress forum, it may as well be implemented in the future. If the site can get one or two of them codemonkeys.

A few years ago I was on a website that did exactly that. It just so happened that the last few posts I had made were on the topic of sex. I have to say, I didn't like the fact that new visitors to my profile would see those posts and potentially judge who I am based on such a limited sample. That's one example and I suspect politics would be another big one.

In a sense, this type of display on a profile inherently takes every comment you make out of context.

@Mark, That’s interesting! Yes, That can get confusing for folks who are fast at reaching to conclusion with limited info in hand! Yes I was thinking that posts would help especially non-pro network to know better each other while on other side it could help NEW Pros or New members..

But yes some feature may null out their plus benefits against the potential minuses!

Yeah, it's one of those things that logically sounds like a great idea but really, the potential negatives are significant. If people know their last few posts are showing to profile visitors, it could change how they present themselves on the forum and reduce their participation.

Members who post on the forum are particularly valuable to this community - the vast majority don't do it.

Just a thought, but if someone could search on "my" posts, as OP, I would expect them to read more than just a few cherry-picked posts before they judge me. I would not put much thought into those who are quick to judge. It would be their loss to do so.

@Mark I am with you on this one. I didn't immediately take to this site and the forum, took a little while to figure out what I thought of this place and I am sure it showed on my posts. I wouldn't want to be critiqued based on my very first posts here.

@galowglass I’m with you on this one. Even though I’m a Pro, I like the board discussions and certain people’s comments have made me more curious about certain people. I also think it would be a nice way for new clients to get an idea of my personality.

I would hope that it wouldn’t show just the last few comments, though. That’s too limiting. I’d rather it just showed threads I/they participated in.

Then again, there are certain topics I’d like to search for, too. I know I’ve started discussions that have already been discussed... but it’s hard for me to do due diligence. I’ve been slowly going back and reading older and older threads. But it will be a while before I get through everything! ?

Very bad idea! My current views may not be the same as they were in posts from a few months ago. Everyone evolves and this sounds like it would open up all previous posts to scrutiny. If someone wants to see all my posts, they can always do the work to find them.

The fact that anyone can do an easy search on my userName and find every comment I've made or has been directed to me, always makes me pause and think through what I post. We have a double-standard to day about holding people accountable for comments they've made yet we don't want to be held to the same accountability. I try to make sure I'm being consistant, non-attacking, and true to myself. I want to be known for who I am. And it's okay with me that other people want or need to be more careful. As in another thread, giving people the choice of what they want to share and how, is what I would want to see.

@AndiCuddles , @galowglass - I do see the points you raise and I come from similar thought process. Not to sound diplomatic or peace maker lol, but I also see where @pmvines, @Ukguy are coming from and @Mark ‘s take keeping neutral

I see voting also still over 50% as a feature to consider, so probably when this site grows lot more and there are lot more daily posts occurring, it might be worth to revisit where adding this would actually work as a second level moderator because folks will be more considerate what they post! OR if it’s easy enough make this feature settings based whoever wants they enable others keep it disabled! Now it can rest in backlog based on what’s more critical on the roadmap.. lol..

well, idk about the whole "it could make you look bad." If anything, it should be a given that what ever you are writing, uploading, sharing and posting is gonna be up in the internets forever. that's a choice. growing as a person and changing opinions or just bringing context to your opinions should be your own time and effort to rectify. buuuuuut what do I know.
