Lavender Lies
Where my heart shatters short my mind drags me on that extra mile
Thought you knew me inside out
Never guessed I’d be standing at the final bout
So write that one down in my confidential file
Chase me down with fire on my heel
Whiskey mouthwash to maintain this tongue of steel
So when my feet stop moving my words can lash
Swirl pace scream fight burn and crash
As we fight and slur I shed a tear for you
Well that isn't exactly true
The tear is for what you and I were
My mind can’t understand you’re a disease without a cure
Her intent is as hidden from view as a submarine and its crew
Actions speak louder than words as emotions rage like an angry sea
It pains me to know from my arms into his you did flee
A wise man I may not be but even that truth I do see
A shallow grave to put you in
Equal parts pain to redeem sin
A single Lavender tulip upon your chest I do pin
Dark contrast against clam pale skin
I smile for memories and delusional day dreams
A shaky smirk is all I can muster for your silent screams
Into your eyes I stare as you squirm and come apart at the seams
Sun sets over our madness and I attempt to catch its last beams
You may need them my dear, no sun sets in eternity or so I hear
Know my heart dies with you in this nightmare turned true
As I lay you down to rest I ride out this savage wave upon its crest
Disillusion myself into the grave my lost soul I am unable to save
Redemption eludes me upon this path paved with good intent
Over my head, heart and lover are both dead
To my defense not much may be said
Turn the landing lights on in hell we are now approaching final decent
