    Huh, when I saw the thread title, my very first thought was WW1 and WW2 fighter pilots .... I never would have associated "aces" in this way. Learn something new every day.

    It’s a really good piece of slang, derived from the first syllable in “asexual”. The word “Ace” connotes singularity and power. Aces can be high or low. Aces are wild!
