Men... your opinions on this?

edited November 2018 in General

EDIT: I am a guy, just so people are aware.

Hey. So, I'm using a throwaway account for this.

Basically, two days ago, this woman randomly messaged me on here out of the blue, and we're already planning to meet up for a cuddle today. We have each other's contact info.

Now, I'm super stoked, but it seems a little bit... strange, I guess you could say? That it's too good to be true? That she has an ulterior motive? That I will get falsely accused of... well, I can't help but think that there's something else going on.

On the other hand, I have heard of several people here meeting their cuddle buddy within days of being on the site. Also, she may have messaged me, at least in part, because I have good karma on my main account.

Does anyone want to share their thoughts? Should I just go with it?

  • You should always be very wary of meeting a stranger. I'd meet in public to check this person out before going to either your place or hers. And definitely don't travel a long distance or pay for a hotel room if you have any doubts whatsoever.

I say go with your gut. If it seems too good to be true then it probably is. Better safe than sorry.

Oops, sorry I just saw this was for men!

@UKGuy I suggested we meet for coffee first. Thank you for your input.

  • @CreativeCuddles damn... maybe I should pass then. :( In your opinion, what concerns should I have about what could go wrong?

  • Everything could go wrong this is an online site you need to protect yourself. No different than any other dating site same rules apply. Meet for coffee first be safe.

  • Yes, definitely meet somewhere public the first few times. You could even go to a park and have a picnic and cuddle there.

  • @aauaua22 ulterior motive seems unlikely. I would say your biggest risks are fakes and flakers. That is, you may not be talking to a woman. That is easily filtered by arranging a quick chat on Skype. The other risk is flaking, her changing her mind and not showing. That just means you dont want to travel too far on your first meet.

  • I once spoke to someone on a wed and that fri we met in Atlanta for a spend the night party. We have hung out several times since and talk fairly regularly, though I don't really have time nor energy nor ambition to speak to folks much these days (sorry to my friends nothing personal). My point is, I know all about staying safe and having your wits about you. However, be careful not to talk yourself out of potential good experiences. There is always a ton of shoulda coulda woulda but sometimes you just have to tune it all out and let things happen.

  • UPDATE: We met at a nearby store and then walked to my place and had an awesome cuddle. Thanks to everyone for your advice! :3

  • Alright, did no one notice he has good karma on his main profile?? Hello

    @reurbo

  • @PaulaDahla While I don’t encourage the practice, this guy did disclose I’m his opening post that he was using a “throwaway” account for this topic. He evidently wanted to express some doubts about an upcoming first session without alerting the cuddler in question this doubts about her.

  • @mickcuddle Correct, that's why I made the throwaway. But we had a nice cuddle and everything seems fine now. :)

  • @aauaua22 I am glad it went well. It’s so hard to predict an outcome of any situation on here. Happy Cuddling

  • @aauaua22 I'm glad you took the risk and had a lovely cuddle in the end!

Technically the Terms and Conditions do say "You agree to create only one unique profile" though, so it might be a good idea to end the throwaway account now that it has served its purpose.

  • Talk on the phone, ask what she is looking for is she a professional or non pro. Meet at a public place feel the vibe and go from there,

  • In general, it's going to vary from person to person how quickly you arrange to meet on here, it might be several weeks or even months between the initial first contact message and meeting or it could be a matter of hours, well maybe not literally hours but I think you get where I'm going. I'd say in terms how many messages are exchanged that if you're talking to someone who isn't a pro that to arrange a meeting within the first few messages is a little bit...I don't know if strange is the right word but to get to know each other a little first is always best, not least of all as it shows you care for them as a person rather than just someone to satisfy your desires.

That aside though, glad to hear it went well! I hear many stories of people really struggling to meet someone on here so it's good hearing you had a great time :)

  • What are you basing it off of? I dont get your reasoning as to why itd be too good to be true. is it her looks or what?

  • If a cuddler is contacting a customer out of the blue, it's probably because their schedule is open and they'd like to fill it. If they see you've viewed their profile, they may contact you because of that. Their motive isn't going to be ulterior, it's going to be money.
If someone random contacts me and I have no interest in cuddling with them, I simply don't respond. No need to overthink it or let it stress you out.

  • @DT80 Not all pro’s contact cuddlers because of money. I for one contact people frequently and I am probably 95% sure I will never get the chance to cuddle with them. I know several pro’s who message others and it has nothing to do with getting a booking. Please don’t make assumptions on us based on personal thoughts.

Not responding to a random message because you have no interest in cuddling with them? I am not sure what your reasoning is, I would say out of respect for yourself as well as for them a response is just quick and simple it doesn’t mean you have to cuddle with them but you should respect them.

  • I am often messaging others only in my city, to give them tips on how to use this site and what it's about. I put up ads on classified sites in my area to try and get more people to join, and This has worked, but I don't want them to get the wrong idea so my initial contact with them is essentially just a welcome message outlining what they can do to attract free cuddlers. It is definitely more active now thanks to that and I often wonder if my tips helped anybody meet up. The only time I mention my service is to let them know I am the only approved pro in Calgary at this time, and anyone else trying to charge them for cuddling needs to be reported because they are breaking site rules.

  • @Catloaf that’s funny you posted this because for the last 2 weeks I started randomly just picking new people and saying, “welcome to CC, if you have any questions please see the forums they will answer just about every question you have! Happy cuddling” or something very close to it. Some people respond, most don’t but that’s ok. A couple I have reported right away but I think it’s a good way to watch new profiles and weed some out right off the bat. (Like one that said she thought this would be a good job).

  • @CreativeCuddles Some thick folks will see our efforts as trying to pluck for another buck though. Their perception I guess, nothing we can really do about it. I always link the FAQ that @respectful did and that still doesn't help much! Most ask me a question I answered in the initial message. I would think that something which required that much effort to write would put away most people's suspicions, but you know, there are always those people who join and think "Heh, this can't be real; adults will be adults". Just the nature of the big bad internet.

  • @Catloaf and what’s funny is it was never my intention to get a cuddle. I just know how I felt when I joined. I didn’t expect a welcoming party but I didn’t expect what I got in the forums either when I started which is why I tell some of the new folks to put a topic in the forum and there are thousands of threads to help with just about any topic. I will start doing the link too. I tend to choose people 35 years old and above to message and it doesn’t matter where they are from and or men or woman. I have no reasoning for the age. I stopped caring about what others think about me here and my warmest welcoming party in the forums has been banned. I contemplated deleting my account because of the way I felt when I joined, yes maybe it was just me. But if I can prevent just one person from feeling that then I am ok with it. My mentor kept me here and she was referred by my first cuddle and I’m grateful to both. I welcome new people because I decided I wanted to for me just like you. I have corresponded with one gentleman he doesn’t seem to think it’s legit and he may never cuddle with me but I will still be here to answer any questions he may have. I saw the same person had visited my profile several times and just emailed and said just that. I see you visited and I just wanted to say hi and if I can answer any questions please don’t hesitate to ask and I leave it st that . I don’t email again.

I am grateful for all advice and criticism, yes sometimes I take it personally and I’m trying to be better and some here are helping even if they don’t realize it. I am learning and sometimes it does take someone pointing things out for me to realize maybe what I did or said wasn’t the best choice and I’ll accept responsibility for my actions.

Trust your gut. If something feels off, don't go.

  • I knew things would go fine , what was " too good to be true " ?
