Lack of non pros in ATL is killing me. I have one cuddle buddy but I'd like to mix it up. I'd just rather not pay for cuddles. I can afford a hour here or there but I need hours at a time, and I can't afford that.
I understand...it's frustrating, and while this is a frequent topic, sometimes venting is helpful.
You could also try participating in some local forums, or start an ATL cuddle group on FB, or just generally do something to take action and promote the site and culture of platonic cuddling.
It's not easy, even in an area with a number of enthusiasts -- being a non-pro means they can pick and choose and reply or ignore to their heart's content, and that's fine too.
Hang in there! I have been here awhile, and the only cuddles I've been able to share have been with pros. But then, there are any number of reasons why someone would not be interested in cuddling with me (or anyone), and I just don't see much point trying to figure out what might be the one thing that leads someone in a different direction. (Assuming it's not something I said or did; in that case I'd want to fix it!) I think that may be true for many others as well.
Unfortunately, take away the professional status and it becomes a lot more like dating. People who don't do this professionally have a lot less time available, so they will likely be pretty picky about who they pick. This leaves a lot of people high and dry. Do they have cuddle parties near you ever? I would try those, though people even have mixed results there.
I don't think 'time available' is an issue. From what I have seen, very few professionals do this full-time, they have other jobs or are in school. The difficulty for men finding female non-pros is due to the imbalance of sexes on this site. It's compounded by the number of women who cuddle only women, which I'm seeing more and more. It's all about demand versus supply.
@UKGuy There are a lot of factors... I was more coming from my own perspective. If I weren't doing this professionally, I would probably just pick one person to cuddle with. If I entered into a relationship, that number would be 0, since I would just get my cuddle needs met with him (AND I have limited time available for it). Since I do this professionally, I'm not bogged down by another job, and I wish to cuddle with virtually anyone (as long as I feel safe). You are right though, in that there are plenty of professionals who aren't available either. I think we are both saying basically the same thing. Since there is more supply of men seeking than women available, then that makes the professional side more attractive, which lessens the number of non-pros available. I was merely pointing out that in order for the sum of available time across all women on this site to balance out with the number of men seeking, many of the women simply have to be professionals (of course, again, I'm coming from the perspective where I am a professional who is available for sessions). Oh well. We can talk about this until the sun rises and still not have made any progress ;-)
There are other options, such as Meetup groups and Cuddle parties. Try expanding your social network and options. I've been pleasantly surprised by the Meetup groups, but I admit that I have zero experience with Cuddle parties which are often advertised with a cost.
@UKGuy Like @ubergigglefritz , if I weren't doing this as a pro, I'd be bogged down by work hours somewhere else, and I'd be getting my needs met by friends.
"Compounded by women who cuddle only women" I have never had a request from a female on CC, haha. Nor do I see much of that in profiles, but maybe it's just less of a thing in my area?
@Lorelei Women cuddling only women tend to be seeking non-professionals. I have one woman client and would love more!
@ubergigglefritz Fair enough. It would be interesting to explore why female clients are so rare...
The notion is that women can get cuddles for free easily, so no need to pay. But they aren't considering the potential consequences of going with "free". I address this in the forum thread on, I think, pros versus non-pros.
There are a bunch of benefits for women to go with professionals. I have a theory that once this becomes an accepted method of self-care in our society that women will become a higher proportion of our clients.
Are/have the longtimers (male or female) on here had success finding other enthusiasts (female) to cuddle with? I see lots of comments about and karma for the pros, but not much for the non pros.
New here and assume it takes time and chatting to build rapport, but I'm not having much luck even getting an chatting going.
@Lorelei - I routinely click on most female 'new cuddlers' and it's not uncommon for women who describe themselves as 'straight' to have 'cuddles only women'. I've seen several just this week.
I find girls easier to cuddle with than guys. Girls are more straightforward and push boundaries less. Girls are also more receptive. Girls feel safer around girls. I've had guys ask if I'm real. So I wait for guys to message me or they think I'm not real.
