Stealing bio?

Wow some guy named Oreoloverlol visited my profile a few minutes ago and then stole my bio. He added few sentences at the beginning but the rest of it is a copy/paste job. Lol soo funny. Is this normal?

  • Be flattered that yours was so good it was worth copying. I expect lots of people will now visit it and steal parts. But I won't, I promise.

  • What's his user name

    Wow! Single White Female, much?

  • Somebody did that with my profile. I messaged him and he told me that mine seem to work so he copied it. I pointed out that my cuddles to date were with pros. Anyway, he changed it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Another "pro" cuddler once stole my regular pros profile, which was a really good one. My pro just changed hers rather than message the other pro about it. That was a shame I think. I was a newbie when it happened but now I think I'd tell her now to message the other girl.

  • I don't know that it's really anything that I personally would be concerned about. I'm not sure if I'd be angry either. I suppose I may initially be angry but I'd probably end up being flattered and just move on. Besides no one anywhere near me means that who ever stole all or part of my profile wouldn't have the same people looking anyway. Besides my true self comes out in my private messages anyway.

But ukguys's right, now I have a need to check it out!! :P

jaekast11 and #UKGuy...I did like your profiles info/bio. I hope you don't mind that I used your statements, but I changed the wordage to make it my own. You guys have some great insight. If someone stole my info/bio, I'd be flattered as long as they made they effort to make it their own and not use my words (word for word).

  • I can relate to this post as well. Many people use my words/phrases in real life. Also someone on this site used a phrase from my profile, on thier profile as well.? Like they say “imitation is the highest form of flattery” lol It may also feel weird too. ?

  • Just as long as nobody uses your photo! ??

  • I didn't think too much about this thread until I saw that someone who recently viewed my profile used some of my wording.

Likely this happens from the not-necessarily accurate belief that the right profile description might attract a desired cuddle buddy! In my opinion, being one's unique self is best. Plus being respectful, reasonable, and having the ability to accept rejection ;)

It is a little unnerving, though, to see someone view my profile then do that. It is good that others have shared a positive perspective on the practice of plagiarism.

mickcuddle, that is funny...but you are right. no one should steal another person's photo/ picture

  • [Deleted User]Theshystud (deleted user)

calineur, you have some valid points...but take it as flattery would be easier (less headaches/ stress). that is why we are all here (I hope). I may have copied some things from others profiles, but I made the changes to make it feel like it is coming from me and my heart to where I feel it wouldn't be considered plagiarism, just flattery to those I took from who had a good idea and or point.

  • What about using another persons cuddle style as ones own?

  • @poolman as to style, if you find one that works well, that’s a great place to start tuning up your own cuddle style.

    Lol

Stealing a bio is actually common. I've seen and heard Pros do that too. Some people won't try to come up with their own at all, while some will say that perhaps their bio needs improvement and they'll take cues from others. Imitation can indeed be sincere flattery.

I can also see how it would be distasteful or annoying. Copying another bio word for word can take away from the other person's chance to meet and cuddle new people. For this reason, people should always try to be original. If you see a bio that you like, you should try to at least paraphrase it.

  • I could do with help making my bio sound proper!

  • I’m a new user, and with any website I’m completely useless when it comes to creating BIOs. I have to be honest and I did look at a few profiles and I really liked their BIOs but I didn’t take any because, well first I have nothing to say about myself I’m the most basic person you’ll ever meet, but i also think if you’re just taking someone’s straight from their profile, it’s not describing you. If I copy and paste someone’s bio that’s really in-depth, and then someone messages me or looks at my other media, then they will clearly see I didn’t write that myself. But I do think it’s okay to change up a few words if you’re not getting anywhere after a few tries but keep it related to yourself.

  • @RyanLad that should totally be your bio "I have nothing to say about myself I’m the most basic person you’ll ever meet," otherwise maybe check out the FAQ sticky for a guide on what to actually put in your profile. Mad props for being able to cuddle and game at the same time. Probably would drive me crazy.
