What does it mean if someone all of a sudden is deactivated? Does that mean they got rid of their account? Or were they kicked off?
No. It means they just paused their account until they choose to come back. Though, they may or may not come back.

@Sheena123 People sometimes deactivate their accounts for a while just to have a break (they can reactivate it again later, unlike deletion). They certainly haven't been kicked off - that would be a ban.
