You don't have to have, or want to have any yourself. This is to see your natural interest in which you prefer.
I hope many will take this poll, it's a topic I've interest in seeing how we rank on it here. ?
I am very fond of cats. However, I dislike the idea of keeping pets/subservient animals.
Dear HB @hogboblin Perhaps you could BE the "familiar" TO a cat instead. Thus having the desired close one-on-one relationship with a feline. But without the stereotypical power relationship. Just a thought Cuddle love to you both Henry
Ideally, I like pets that take care of me. Something I can cuddle up with whenever I like, but can also stop cuddling whenever and they won't chase me down begging for more. Something that naturally puts out the kind of food I like at regular intervals. Something that can both take care of itself and make my life a bit better. Something that's not going to tie me down to the house, but isn't going to make me leave if I don't want to, either. Something that doesn't bug me if I want to take a nap on top of the fridge.
...Humans. I like humans.
@DarrenWalker On your profile you list your pet as @hogboblin . Does he fit your criteria for a good pet?
@pmvines: He does.
@DarrenWalker I miss seeing you around. ?
I've always had dogs growing up. When I was but a wee lass, I had four at a time. Now I've got about three. I'd love to own cats eventually but my dad happens to be allergic and he's as big an animal lover as I am and would get himself sick trying to play with whatever kitten I try to adopt.
I love both, each has their merit!
@DarrenWalker speaking of pet-people, I think MySpace used to have a pet feature. That you can choose someone as a pet, and or be chosen. I barely used the site so, don't recall much, or learned much about.
Cats are never subservient. Also I don't think you keep them. It's more like they honor you with their presence. They also don't give affection; they return the affection you give to them. However, I get your point. There is a lot to be said for letting all animals be free and wild.
