Friend Requests.....

Lately I have been receiving many messages from cuddlers asking me to cuddle with them in the future, without saying much about themselves.

In addition, many will make friend requests to me without having any real discussion about any plans for cuddling or having any other type of discussion.

My general rule is that I won't accept a friend request from someone who I haven't had a real discussion with and/or spoken seriously about cuddling together.

Any thoughts?

@Lev136 I used to be more open to accepting friend requests. But then it occurred to me that accepting a friend might lead others to believe that that person is real, even that I might be endorsing their cuddling credentials, so now I prefer to at leas exchange a couple of PMs before I accept the request.

Same here, however, with professionals I still am more open about it.

I am always hesitant to accept friend requests . Enemy requests on the other hand ...

@Lev136 I don’t use the services of professional cuddles. So though there are several I enjoy back and forth with, not a big part of my friends list.

I don't like to accept friend requests from people I have never had any communication with. If i've exchanged some messages with someone on here, or met them in person and have a good impression of them then I will gladly accept.

I am not one for randomly 'collecting' friends on social media sites. Even on Facebook my rule is to not accept requests from people I have not met in person.

I cuddled a woman once who never read my profile or had any communication with me at all. I just told her where I was. 20 minutes later she came walking in. We cuddled for 3 hours in her car and cuddled again about a month later.

I've gotten a couple of friend requests from people I had 0 interactions with, I just see they've visited me and without saying a word decided to add me - don't really understand why someone would do that. I assume they just want as many friends as they can to look good assuming people wouldn't say no or not caring if anyone does but who really knows, could be anything from that to anxiety about messaging or a very strange and random misclick.

Well, as @StanW said in "People who send you friend requests from 2,000 miles away!" sometimes friend requests from people too far away to actually cuddle are attempts to make connections in an area they think they may be traveling to at some point.

And as I said in "Friend requests from total strangers," whenever I get a friend request from somebody I've never spoken to, I tend to assume that they like my profile, or the stuff I say in the forums, or both, and accept without really thinking about it too much. I guess I tend to treat those as fan requests rather than friend requests. There's not a limit on how many "friends" you can have, is there?

Turn requests down, accept them, send them to total strangers... it doesn't hurt anything, really. And a note to everyone: My online "friendship" is not an endorsement of anything! Maybe I liked what they said in a forum post. Maybe I just accepted a random request.

Just accept the request...it's a simple request, nobody is asking your CC info right?
Besides, if you accept or not what's the harm. This is not MySpace.

I think you should contact the police and get their opinion on the friend request in question. You cannot be too careful (paranoid).

I do not see how being “friended” rises to the level of concern or even irritation. On a site where so many claim they are “touch starved” it seems silly to be flummoxed by a long distance cyber handshake.

I didn't realize it was such a big deal. I often send a friend request or favorite someone so that I can get back to their profile later without a lot of searching, particularly if I'm searching in a geographic area to which I'm planning to travel that won't show in my default "100 mile" search. I also send requests to folks nearby along with a quick "Hello" hoping to initiate a conversation. As has been mentioned by others in the thread, I treat this differently than FB, in that on that site, I only friend people I personally know and socially interact with on some level. However, on LinkedIn, I connect to people to create a network of people that might help me professionally, even if I've never met them. That often starts conversations and has led to fruitful and interesting relationships.

@DarrenWalker turn the screen brightness and AC temperature down, and crank up the fans. That might help.

@Lev136 I think you're way of going about this is entirely acceptable. It's great, actually. I opted for something more along the lines of DarrenWalker. I don't believe either is wrong.

@checkingthings: Come to think of it, that may be the problem. I'm so pale already that what with the overenthusiastic AC in here I'm practically the color (and temperature) of a block of ice—it would make blushes super noticeable.

Not sure about the screen brightness. I've tried so hard to lower it past minimum for so many years, but it just doesn't get dark enough for my photosensitivity. There's probably an app for that somewhere. Can't seem to find one, though. Oh well....

I only accept friend requests from persons I feel a connection with. A cuddle with you is not a shoe in for you to friend request me or for me to accept it from you. That's not to say I would not continue to message you or interact with you . That's a conversation I continuously have with people. So very often when I don't accept their request they already have a rapport with me on the phone or by email. And are free to chat with me on either media. The conversation usually continues regardless of the request.

Talking about been careful of who you accept as friend ?? Really??? In this site ?? Lol ... it's not like by accepting a friend request unlocks any additional or personal information!! It goes to show how distrustful our society has become. As mentioned by somebody else, it's not like this is a Myspace or Facebook account 😂😂 .Have you even consider that for some people a declined friend request it's better than the feeling of rejection by not responding to a simple introduction or a welcoming message ? Some members don't even have the courtesy of responding with a simple, ( hi, thanks for reaching out but I'm not interested atm ) 🤷‍♂️

I accept or ask to be friends after a folly of messages have taken place. I,ve talk on the phone with most of the people I'm friends with or are close to meeting.
