"The Spoon Drawer" is LIVE!

So it has been my dream for some time now to create a website that is a hub for physical touch people.

NOTE: This is NOT to replace Cuddle Comfort

I just started putting together this website: http://spoondrawer.webs.com/ I'm hoping to start using it regularly and creating something awesome out of it. I'd love if people from here joined the forum (which sadly isn't much special, but it's something!).

If anyone here is interested in helping with the site (research, web design, graphic design, etc) I'd sure love it! I really want to create a connected web community for us touchy people! ;)

  • Yeah, I am so on there. Thank you!
  • Great! I'm looking forward to reading the information that will be on the site. I want to learn more about how important touch is because I actually am so not getting human physical contact most of the time, it's been about 2 years now, before I obtained it regularly in a romantic relationship, that I'm convinced that touch is a luxury, not a need, and that it's weak and needy to need it. So I would like to be educated more on this topic and would love to see articles based on research. I would also like to see more about how important touch is for adult human beings. Much research has been done on monkeys and newborn infants, what about average grown-up people? How does lack of touch affect them? Certainly, unlike babies, adults won't die without it. Maybe they just feel sad without it?
  • I don't know man, constantly hearing about how important physical contact is when I'm not partaking in it is not a good feeling.

    StevenE: Thanks so much! :)

Schmetterling: death is not the worst fate, in my opinion. There may not be evidence that it produces death, but there are other serious effects to people. So yes, I'm excited to explore it more. I wish I could do some of my own research, but I am excited to post stuff I am finding. I'm hoping specifically researchers go more into platonic and non-sexual touch between peers of same and opposite genders.

Saprticus: It may not be fun, but if we can show people how important it is, normalize it, and build a community, it is more likely that we will receive it. Somebody has got to do the hard work to achieve these. I'm willing to do it. Are you?
  • that... is the best!!!!!!
