Sharing poems

Holding

There is no knack,
no art,
no skill.

No practice required.

An opening of the arms
a widening of the heart
is all we need

My chest pressed against you
I have yet to find a place
more safe than here

May I stay?

We can learn more about each other
in this embrace
than from sharing aloud
All of our diary entries

Feel me to read me

Your pulse gives me all the back story
I need to understand you

Hold me
if you don't

I will be crushed
beyond repair

  • Holding.

    Each other we hold
    When it is cold
    I’m told

    A blanket we fold
    We were so bold
    A snuggle behold

It’s for the young and old
    Even some cuddles are sold
They are all different none are from a mould

  • They see cycles,
    Perceive patterns,
    Then, the end nears.
    Chaos ensues
    Silence follows
    Ad infinitum

  • if I were to hold you in my arms
would there be any cause for alarm
would the casual break of silence rest gentle, under no harm
    would we sleep
    would we laugh
    would our days intertwine,
would our friendship grown into an eternal spiritual bind
    leaving even this world behind
What is this power of touch, this connection we seek.
    While the strong encounter giants,
    they forget the meek.
So thus, with our hearts withdrawn, we imitate the it
ignore the connection, neglect the gift
yet it may return, and exceed our greatest hopes, even fears
for Compassion, and Kindness, leads a world filled with tears

  • If a kiss was a raindrop
    I’d send you showers,
If a hug was a second
    I’d send you hours.

    If a smile was water
    I’d send you the sea
And if love was a person
    I’d send you ME
