@bles I'm thankful for the persons who show they care by reaching out with kind words and a listening ear. The openness each of them showed to listen with out judgement made me reflect on my actions and words. By reflecting I looked at myself with the same compassion they showed and felt enormous shame. So I'm using that feeling of shame to reflect on the positive insight these caring souls have blessed me with through their act of kindness.

Just as I was finished typing my last post my oldest child calls me to check in on me. I had texted her almost a month ago to check in with her. So she was just returning the favour. I was grateful for her call and surprised she even responded. What was even more special was her offer for us to meet up with each other more often for dinner and catch up. It made me feel hopeful that we are finally creating an opportunity to start the process of healing and building our own unique bond with each other.

  • I am thankful to @Bles for making this community more engaging through her constant activity and stories. There is a lull in new conversations threads often. Her ability to dredge through the archives of tens of thousands of posts over the years to find something worth talking about again for the new people is something I don't have the mindset for or the time to do myself.

@bles I'm thankful for having an open heart and and an open mind. I'm grateful to my spirit for having grown the ability to accept rejection no matter what form it comes. I'm thankful for growing new insight to accept responsibility for ways in which my past actions affect others perceptions of me, my state of mind and my spirit. And I'm grateful for the humility I'm growing within myself to accept that it's part of life. It's part of self growth. And it's also part of growing the skill set to read the character and potential motivation of others. I'm so thankful for being in a place where I can appreciate the choices others make against me and feel hurt about it yet understand why and still let it go. I'm so thankful for being able to forgive myself for my past transgressions yet not beat myself up when others use them to judge my character and spirit. I'm so thankful for growing the strength and courage to be kind to myself, to others even when I feel hurt. That I can understand their thoughts and actions without judging them. That I can let it be.

@bles I'm thankful for the ability to forgive. To feel slighted by others. To feel ignored and used and dismissed. Yet being able to think from the other side and just forgive. I'm just as grateful for the inner peace I feel when I can see and talk to the folks who have hurt me and not even be aware. That I can still smile and move on with my day. As alone as I am. As confined in isolation as I am. I'm happy with the peace that comes from understanding others and where I stand. I will always be a loner. Always. But I'm never alone. I always have my self and one or two persons who truly care. I just know that in moments when my solitary confinement gets to my spirit I am never alone. That alone gives me the inner peace I need to soldier on through the night.
