When I realized I could get paid to do something I love and signed up immediately but I see that in order to become a pro I must wait until I’m verified or not, so does that mean I can’t make money cuddling until then?
Yes, that’s exactly what it means. You cannot charge people until you are a recognized pro on the site.

Nothing to prevent you starting as an enthusiast, to build up a future customer base. That's probably a good idea anyway, if you are just getting started ; because if it's free, no-one can ask for their money back. 😀 I still remember my first day as a taxi-driver ; very different to giving lifts to friends, family and hitch-hikers.
One thing I don't know, is if an enthusiast-turned-pro can keep any Karma, or if that gets reset to zero.
