President Wilson never publicly mentioned the 1918 Spanish flu (plus Historical Outbreaks)

1918 Spanish Flu
United States

20% CFR / 10 (conservative) = 2% IFR
The 1918 Spanish Flu killed 2% of those it infected

675,000 Americans died / 103,270,000 population =
0.65% of total US population died from the Spanish Flu

2020 U.S. population * 0.65% dead =
2,149,629 would be dead if 2020 population is used.

Woodrow Wilson was president from 1913 to 1920, but there is NO historic record of Wilson publicly mentioning the Spanish flu. Few (if any) politicians mentioned the 1918 Spanish Flu.

Main advances in combating disease over the past 100 years have been:
-better food
-clean drinking water
-improved sanitation
-better medical

Current COVID-19 View:

As of 7/16
Texas Overall
3,660 deaths / 305,854 cases=
1.20% CFR / 10 (conservative) = 0.12% IFR

As of 7/16
U.S. Overall
138,358 U.S. deaths / 3,576,157 confirmed=
3.9% CFR / 10 (conservative) = 0.39% IFR

138,358 U.S. deaths / 331,074,598 population=
0.042% deaths of total population

42.29 U.S. deaths per 100,000 people

A total of 9,000 Americans under 55 have died of COVID-19 this year
(far fewer than car accidents or overdoses)

If an American under 50 years old gets COVID-19, the IFR is 0.0325%

2009-2016
United States

President Obama was president for 8 years.
During his terms over 20 million Americans died.
Where was the media hysteria for over 20 million dead Americans?

  • So is this a political pro-Trump anti-Obama post? Or are you trying to say COVID-19 is not really a big deal? Or what are you trying to do?

  • @davebutton

    Don't get twisted...

"Alex Berenson is a former reporter for The New York Times and the author of several thriller novels and a book on corporate financial filings."|Wikipedia

And is therefor the "Best Source for COVID Science". Clearly...🤪

3rd (or possibly 4th?) post from OP claiming this person to be the best source for covid info, with them basically refusing to actually justify that beyond posting overly politicised info. Confirmation bias is your enemy. Not communicating properly is your enemy. This isn't a place to preach, it's a place to hold discussions.

Fun fact - do you know why the Spanish flu is called the Spanish flu? not because it originated in Spain, but because the media at the time wanted to keep morale going during WW1 at the start of the outbreak so they focused on reporting cases in Spain as it was a neutral country as far as the war went, giving the false impression that it was being hit especially hard when it was just one of the only places honestly reporting cases/being reported on.

Also, very weird for you to ask why there was no outrage over 20 million Americans dying during Obama's presidency as if there was going to be a public outcry over people dying from heart disease and cancer blaming him for it, VS a president doing nothing for months while a pandemic gets started who then blames everyone else for it and does just about everything in their power to get in the way of saving lives.

Perhaps the OP would make his argument stronger by USING BLOCK CAPITALS. Repetition doesn't seem to be working. ☹️ 😀
