How does the location of cuddling sessions generally get decided upon? ( i.e. couch, floor, bed? )
I personally have a professional co-working office that I hold my sessions at during the slowest times of the day when no other members are present. For instance, late at night around 9 pm is sufficient. I know @cuddlesbyaubrey has a private office in Summerlin, NV that is specifically dedicated to cuddling.
I always ask. If it's not a bed I pass. Anything else isn't worth it.
@snugbuddy That might be a mistake ; some people might feel that a bed has too much of a non-platonic overtone.
I think for a lot of people their bed is a very personal and almost sacred space. Especially if it’s shared with a romantic partner. I can understand why people would want to have platonic cuddles elsewhere - and certainly for the first few times with a new cuddlebud.
I’ve had great cuddle experiences tons of places besides just traditional beds ...The couch, a futon, blankets spread out on the grass at the park or in the sand at the beach, the movie theater - love those mega recliner seats, and of course car cuddles! ( I have the back of my SUV made up with memory foam, bedding, and lots of blankets & pillows. But it doesn’t need to be that fancy to be cozy & comfy ) I’ve even had nice cuddles on a flight in coach when the middle seat is open and we can lay in each others laps 😎
I’ll never say no to get snuggly in a nice bed, but I’ve found plenty of other cuddle spots that are each great for their own reasons!
I know for some people with movement limitations, pain, or other issues - a bed ( or similar ) is necessary, but if that’s not an issue I’d encourage y’all to give some other spaces a try. You might be pleasantly surprised !
I have a room with a sofa and some mattresses that I use for cuddling, as I prefer to keep my bed for sleep only. If I go to someone else's place, I would be open to cuddling in their bed if they prefer. I'm also happy to cuddle on a bench or on a blanket outdoors in a park, if the weather is good.
@Ngray4782 im sure everyone decides in their own way, but I think it’s nice to have an informal discussion beforehand, like when you’re deciding upon who is hosting and ect... just mentioning the cuddles spaces and places you can provide or are cool with and asking your cuddlebud their options, opinions, and ideas as well
I personally prefer a bed. It depends on where we are cuddling and where my partner feels comfortable.
@saramajara yes, cuddling locations are equally as important as wardrobe/attire/what have you. Some people feel comfortable getting dressed up for their cuddle sessions. Others think it's an invitation for bad intentions. It's really up to the person. Good call!
I think communication is everything, before, during and sometimes also after. I've cuddled twice in movie theaters (getting to know someone) and then one we went straight to the bed because I felt immediately comfortable with him after we had tea and a convo, and he had cuddled a lot so it made it not-awkward. I think for the most part I like to ease into things with someone - have tea, see if I'm still interested. Maybe cuddle publicly or watch a movie on the couch, see how it goes. I need to build trust in someone. This fellow that had cuddled a lot before just felt like my people so I felt a lot of trust right away.
If I'm feeling hubba hubba vibes, I'm not going to go past tea or a walk.
I like cuddling side by side on the couch, then later if there's trust built, consider more intimate positions like spooning. I like about 3-5 sessions on the couch before spooning usually.
@Ngray4782 My typical sessions are usually in hotel rooms on the bed. Most of my clients are transit so they're always on the road. But I have a done a cuddle session in a movie theater before and that was really nice.
