Oh, scratch that. The thread's about who we think will win the election. Very tight, but Biden. Roe v Wade will likely be overturned so the "hold the nose and vote for Trump" folks can vote on the other issues near and dear. @JasonCuddles Can you expand? And do you find me attractive? New Zealand would be my first emigration choice but you guys got it going on with healthcare.

@DrCuddleBug There's only two candidates that have a chance of winning. There's never been a third party candidate in my long life that has even come close to beating one of the two major party candidates.
The Supreme Court will select Trump.
In 2016, Trump didn't so much win the election as Hillary Clinton lost it. She was perceived as corrupt and untrustworthy, made several major mistakes, and focused on states she was certain to win instead of battleground states, and still only narrowly lost to Trump by very close margins in three key states. She was overconfident to the point of arrogance, and allowed an easy win to slip away.
By contrast, Biden has none of Clinton's drawbacks, has run a smart and effective campaign, has made no major mistakes and few minor ones, and has benefited enormously from circumstances unfavorable to Trump. In addition, Trump has alienated many of his supporters while doing little to gain new ones, focusing on his base instead of moderate voters. This is why I predict that Joe Biden will win. It certainly won't be a landslide, but a decisive victory by 4 or 5 key states in about a 60/40 split and with over 300 electoral votes.
This does not mean, however, that he will become the next president. I also predict a chaotic mess in the aftermath, the likes of which the U.S. hasn't seen since 1860. It's hard to say exactly what will happen or what the end result will be, but the next 2 1/2 months could be rough.
@Parad0x I felt the same way about Super Bowl LIII. The New England Patriots didn't win as much as the Atlanta Falcons lost by giving the game away. This season, there were 3 games the Falcons had an over 90% chance of winning which they ended up choking and losing in spectacular fashion.
We'll see. The Bush/Gore election was peaceful, HC had the popular vote in the last, not sure what doomsday scenario you're envisioning for this one. I think we just want to stay healthy & employed.
@spuds And this is one of the reasons we have two candidates who don't excitethe masses. We only have ourselves to blame for settling for the "least of two evils."

@Designergirl The social climate back during the Bush/Gore election was not nearly as toxic as it is now. I hope I'm wrong, but regardless of the outcome Tuesday, it's likely to get pretty ugly for at least a few weeks and possibly months.

Here is some perspective from an earlier election:
Wednesday should be declared a day off/stay home day! I'll be shocked if the majority of people react rationally no matter the outcome. For some the results will be awesome and for some a full-on hell-scape.
It's so divisive there's bound to be melt downs and destructive celebrations (clashes and conflict) and it won't matter which camp they're in (I'm sure there will be craziness on both sides no matter what).
Those of us in cities where things are already tense, are already getting reports of both sides "preparing". Not sure who makes up the two sides, or what they're preparing for exactly, but I'm not planning on going downtown to find out.
Prob t though. Never underestimate the power and sway fear mixed with money can have.
We may not know for a few weeks. But I am well stocked on a wide spectrum of inebriants.
