What are some obstacles you have run into?

It can be hard to establish credit or get a loan before you get a credit card.

Seriously though - Do you mean obstacles with this site, or..?

  • Obstacles pertaining to what can you be more specific?

I had one guy with anger issues that had to many hang ups but that was resolved quickly without incident. Every other cuddle partner I have had has been amazing gentleman. If you go with your intuition you will know who the bad eggs are.

  • My biggest obstacles have been due to things not within my control (covid & distance).

  • @FlyingToaster - It's not hard to get a credit card. The dog on Married with Children got one.

  • @Mike403 I used to watch that show a long time ago. I haven't seen it in years. :)

You guys are silly. 😂No I ment with the sessions. An I can see the anger issues being an obstacle. Glad it got resolved for you. I know how to cuddle...but what is and is not allowed here with the sessions along with the obstacles are what I am more interested in learning more about, A couple examples of obstacles I thought about was taking shoes off at door, pets, roommates, bad hygiene...ooo IDK gotta use the bathroom/poop....🤣

Communication can be a huge barrier. Being comfortable enough with and aware of what one feels as one feels it can be a challenge to talk about. Even if you went into the cuddle with no expectations other than to cuddle.

It's a new experience for many to be held by a stranger in such an intimate way. And it calls up lots of emotional sensations and thoughts one often didn't even know one had.

Hence the kind of communication that is necessary in that moment requires patience and deferred judgement. That takes a particular mindset and emotional quality to execute. It comes with time and effort.

When one is new one is just learning that communication muscle of vulnerability. So the words are not yet in one's vocabulary to describe what position one likes. How one feels. What one wants to feel. It takes time to adjust one's sensory neural impulses. It takes time to feel comfortable and safe enough to talk about what one feels and needs. And very often it's not what one think one is feeling in those early months of cuddling. It really does take time. And when we are new we need to be patient with ourselves. And have others be patient with us as well.

It's a different mindset from what we're used to. It really is.

I wish I was fortunate enough to have solid mentors to guide me when I first started on this site. My whole experience on here would have been so different.

I may still be fully engaged on it. I may still feel that enthusiasm for it I did a year ago. Now I'm just done.

I haven't deleted my account because I really do appreciate the value of the platform. And as such I've created my own higher purpose from it. My interest in cc now is more spiritual and intellectual. I really enjoy some of the discussion threads. I've stopped starting discussion threads as I did several months ago. I have over three dozen of them. For now I read and analyse the ones posted by others. I contribute my .0000 cents worth of perspective when and as the spirit moves me
Otherwise I just read and keep moving.

It's also become my mental outlet for digital monologue. I don't get to express my thoughts on random subjects that are very close to my heart often. Social contacts are chit chat connections that are precise and specific and generally light hearted as well as very brief. So there's this part of my voice I get to express whenever I log in to these forums. I give myself the gift of talking at and to myself. Since I tag no one. I just speak to a general audience. And that's enough for me. Being a loner that is negatively perceived I've learned to respect the diversity of purpose of platforms such as this one. Virtually speaking I'm nobody.

But I sustain my happy space by using the annonymity and openness of it as a creative outlet for my thoughts. And it's one of the things that keeps me on here. It's what I look forward to when I login. I'm not here for online friends. I'm not here for cuddles . I'm not here for messaging. I'm not here for any interaction. I've transcended that.
I'm only here for the insights, for the stimulating open spirited and respectful discussion.

    Nothing else matters to me.

What is and what is not allowed in a session is up to the people involved. By agreeing to cuddle somebody you are agreeing to care for them, and if you both care for each other there won't be any difficulty.

As for shoes, pets, poop and the like, all you have to do is be a good guest or host. As long as they are doing the same, again you will be fine. Normal social rules apply as normal. How would you behave if you were visiting/being visited by somebody you know moderately well from work, but have never socialised with? That, or some similar imaginary circumstance might give you a reference point.

I have short list of people I admire and respect. When I'm not sure what to do, I ask myself, 'What would they do in this situation?' Public figures on my list include the Queen Mum and James Bond.

Here are a couple of Codes of Conduct that might help you. There are for professionals not enthusiasts but that doesn't really matter.
