It's true that the church can nearly always be counted on to give a sexual sinner of this sort a second chance to definitely not do it again in an environment where (once again) nobody knows they're a risk and their odds of getting caught are reasonably low.
Giving a sinner every opportunity to repeat their sin, with only their own weak conscience standing between them and that sweet, sweet little boy in the choir is, naturally, the best way of ensuring that repentance is genuine. After all, if you restrain them, that's not really repentance, is it?
In short: yes, of course, definitely.
I know this post is meant to be lighthearted and funny. With that being said, all my sexual abuse came from leadership in the church. I was not raised Catholic. It was another offbrand quirky religion. But four men in total abused me from the time I was about 11 or 12 until I was an adult.
Maybe this post should’ve come with a trigger warning. A lot of us are here on cuddle comfort because we have past sexual trauma.

While I'm not catholic and I join the outrage at the sexual abuse scandals associated with that church, I am equally irritated by calls for people to chill and have a productive chat... led out by an openly offensive meme. That is the opposite of sincere or genuine.

Historically yes , for the priesthood
I'm not Catholic, so I'll give an outsider's singular view. I'm always horrified whenever I hear about the abuse of a child. How can anyone do that to a child? Especially one who has devoted their entire life to the teachings of Christ. There does seem to be a systemic problem with the priesthood in part, but one should be careful about making general accusations to the the entire priesthood or the church in general.
This is not really a religious question, but a moral and ethical one. This abuse is clearly against the teachings of all Christian religions. I have seen individuals pervert these teachings to justify or purge themselves of their sins. Can one be forgiven of their sins? Yes, but that's not a license to repeatedly commit that sin. Jesus said many times after forgiving someone of their sins to sin no more.
There is so much I could say about this. Probably one of the things I can least stand to hear about or watch is a child being hurt. I can watch a lot of icky, gruesome things on TV like real surgeries, etc. I can't stand to see the suffering of a child. I also don't find the subject amusing in the least. I'm not flying into a rage because I believe no one here truly finds the heart of the subject amusing. If you do, I hope you will seek help.
In closing, please arrest and jail the offenders. Provide counseling and resources for the victims. Train those in positions of trust and provide policies and procedures to prevent this from happening. Pray for us all.

@tjalex When the church makes general accusations and demands things be changed around the world to fit their world view that is sheer arrogance, but we shouldn’t do the same thing with the same institution when it protects pedophiles and turns its back on the victims? The only reason they have done anything at all is bad press and exposure. I have no respect for them whatsoever. Being careful as you say with the Catholic Church is like telling a Jew to be careful with what they say about Nazis. The trust has been broken and they surrendered any chance they had of possible understanding.
